FLUSH WAS NOT A POSSIBILITY on the flop
So i was playing some poker last sunday on a $5bb table and i came across a hand we all love....
ME: AA, raise $2.00
other: ?? reraise $5.00
ME: call
FLOP: A, Q, 2
other: raise $5.00
ME: reraise $15.00
other: reraise to $50.00
ME: reraise all in.....
other: call
POT SIZE: $912.77
i put in every penny i had and even with trip Aces i was nervous...theres always that "if" in mind.
turn: A,Q,2,2
full house....i win...or did i?
River: A,Q,2,2,Q
l3ones: full house Aces full of queens
other: 4 of a kind Queens
Question....could i really have done anything different here besides not raise all in? Maybe pushed harder preflop? i knew i had the best hand at the time and i was highly doubting he really had anything amazing tell he called my all in.
what do you guys think? whos the fool here? Mistake on my part to push all in? Or did i really just get @%&@ed like i thought.....let me know...It took me 4weeks to turn $200.00 into my new bankroll of $1012.00...that night i went to sleep with $0.00bankroll and a weird twitch that wouldnt let me sleep !
I have been playing poker for years and we cant let a bad beat get to us but lets see what i can do next time a situation like this occurs....

You're the fool for playing with your whole bankroll at one table. Why would you risk all of your money in one session like that? Yeah, you got unlucky, but that's why you stick to limits you can affor, so you can fight to play another day.

I try not to sit at any session with more than 5% of my total bankroll. Thta way if I do get unlucky, I can take a break, cool off and try again.

Are you serious?

I would have reraised him with either all-in or half my stack. A reraise preflop would have probably made him suspect AA, which maybe have gotten him to fold on the flop.
Smooth calling with AA makes more sense if the other guy was the initial raiser, but he reraised your raise, so getting it all-in or making a big rereraise is likely best.

Exactly what we wouldn't want.

So you re-raise him $400+ all-in to make a pot of $912.77? Or you re-raise his $50 to $1012????
Your story has more holes than herion addict.

So you are raising less than the minimum?

So the BB was $5 and you raised to $7? I thought the minimum raise would be to $10.

You would think that you would atleast know the standard raise that you make. And if you are playing these stakes, you would think that you atleast know what the minimum raise is.

wasting to much time on this post, but yea i should if i am really playing these stakes more then just making it up....however im usually a SNG player....was one of the few times i played non-sng, best advice so far is mastershake---protect your bankroll,
thanks---

that raise isn't possible. you weren't playing those stakes or have completely forgotten the situation. either one says that you shouldn't play that high stakes ever again.

Yeah, I missed that the first time through. I figured it was a typo and it was a 50 cent big blind, but I don't know of a site that let's you buy in for $500 with a blind that small.

I would have check-folded the flop since there was still 2 cards to come.
