For a mac guy who can't use any of the above, can you guys elaborate about what do does software do and how do they help with your game.

Can you be a winning player without them?

it keeps track of all of the hand histories from your site and compiles them into a database. what this does it not only save every hand you've played (so you could examine every hand you ever got AA, KK, 23s, whatever) but it also gives you statistics about different parts of your game, and every villain's game.

like preflop raise %, seeing the river %, folding, aggression, checkraises, etc...

It has its limitations. It can only tell you based on what hands its seen (at low stakes this rarely goes above 50-100 hands a person) so sometimes it gives you shady/inaccurate/halfaccurate "tips" from it's percentages. Like.. yeah, your opp may have seen 50% of his hands, but that could just be a hot rush over a small sample, etc... playing him as "loose" can cost you if he's rather tight but just on a little heater..

anyways. I use pokertracker but more for reference then actually while playing. i was a winning player well before it.

I was a winner without it, but now I do think PT was the best purchase I have ever made. It gives you even more of an edge over the other players and it works on two levels.

It can give you a quick read on players, good for multi tabling and you can also use it to find leaks in your game.

I use it for both with pokeraceHUD during playing so I can get the stats on the other players.

Yes, I'm using Poker Office. I've tried Poker Tracker as well, but I liked PO a bit better...

I do not rely on softwares, but stats they provide are useful in finding my weak after playing.

I'm trying spam, a newly released software. As far as I know, it's free in its first version. It can track live play and provide action records, wins/losses, Odds, PotOdds, esp. players' historical stats since the use of spam. Also, spam contains a database to store players' stats for you to analyze your previous play.

If you'd like to have a try, go to the website of spamers.

Sad out of my expectation. how about my poll?would you like to continue?

The ratio between the number of software users and non-software user now is 55 to 44. Would you like to contiue?
Does this ratio say more people prefer to use software for online games nowadays? If so , what's your favourite one or if you find no software is up to your expectation, what kind of software is your ideal one?If not, by what means do you improve your games?

What is it with spam lately where there is one guy with the set and another guy with the spike? What ever happened to good old single user spammage?

Bye bye assholes.

It might be because the forums too well policed to get away with a frontal assault as it were.

So these guys have to creep in pretending to be real members, trying to slip things in and hope someone will give them an excuse to drop in a pimp or link.

I like to think of it as a cookie or sub game that comes along with the forum. Although sometime I p*ss people off because I can’t stand someone who turns up with there own agenda.
