Punishing the chasers-another str8 flush live

Posted Mon Dec 11, 2006 2:38 pm GMT by Dave B
Limit players dream, K Spade 10 Spade , I limp in LP w/ a few others.

Flop J Spade 9 Spade 3 Spade , checked to me, I bet out. No bother slow playing since I have been betting out most flops and getting very little respect, 4 callers.

Turn 8 Heart checked to me, I bet, guy on my left calls, blind check raises (straight? small flush? nut flush?), not sure, but I 3 bet feeling the 2nd nuts is still good, 2 callers.

River Q Spade , blind bets out, I raise and say "one time" feeling he has the Ace Spade and 2 get, the guy on my right 3 bets....WOW, blind folds, I 4 bet, HE JUST CALLS.

I was shocked that the guy on my left (fairly solid regular) would stick around for the flush since, given the action, there were probably very few left. Also, he didnt 4 bet me with the ace high flush when ONLY K10 would beat him. He was down to his last $11, but still, very odd.

So, I win a nice pot after 2 players thought that they sucked me out. I did win another Canterbury hat-this time a stocking hat, not a baseball hat. I guess they are worth something on ebay-I usually just give them away.

You didn't bet enough on the flop. I like to make a half pot sized bet there and then slap the dealer's hand when he tells me I made an illegal bet and tries to give me my chips back.
