I would most likely call here based on his previous plays. I feel this is more of a scare tactic then villian having a good hand. If he does then I guess I pay him off.

I probably still fold it due to the other player being in the pot and I need more than 2 hands to say TPGK is enough to call a huge check raise against villian.

And thats why your BR is probably steady. My BR is a swing addict.

I took my time but I called - and of course, this time he had J8.
I really didn't want to call.
But few things passed in my head in those 15 sec :
Hugh over bet is usually not a sign of strength.
Dude just lost a full stack in 2 hands that he played badly - probably steaming.

I had a great session and this was the last hand I was going to play either way. shame to lose all my profit in one hand.

Still not sure I did the right thing. But am also not convince its the worng one.

I am not too sure about this, but it sounds to me like you have trouble trusting your instincts. I think that may be a problem that you are having and why you say you are still a losing player. For example, you said here that you didn't want to call, but called anyway. You should trust your instincts and lay the hand down. You will always find a better place to get your money in. It also sounds to me as if you are trying to make too much happen. You can only play with the cards that you are given. Don't try to overplay your hands to make money. Just play the cards that you are given.

Disclaimer- this analysis may be way off and if it is, I'm sorry.

Either way, this guy is playing with a BIG negitive expectation. I would definatly be looking for him, next time I sit down at the table.(and be sitting to his left). I would be making a few notes on him aswell.

I get the impression he was playing most hands??? If this is the case I would tighten up and wait for the right time. Playing your KQ in early is IMO not the right time. I would of folded. However you did play. I would of put myself ahead on the flop, you made a probe'ish bet and got two callers. from this point on I would of check-folded.

(On a side note; within this game, I think you're not raising quite enough pre-flop. The main point of raising is to either win the pot straight off, or to narrow the field. On all three examples the raises still got two callers. On some games a $0.20 raise is enough to win the pot, in others a $1 raise gets three callers. Each game is different, you need to learn the balance. In this case (remembering you're in EP), I'd of raised a bit more)

First, this is a Short Hand low limit table.

I usually raise 3XBB - 5XBB. Table depended they either always call or always fold. In this particular table they would call most raises with the same marginal hands they limp with (Jx seems to be the requirement, but I've seen worse)

Now, in a SH table, I think KQ is a pretty decent hand. I wont always raise with it, and wont always call a raise with it - but it is still a decent hand.

So, what do we all think - bad call, easy fold?
