So my main question is what is the best way to play a big pot against semi-short stacks. I had this hand come up earlier and after the flop both villains had ~$20 left. Do I just commit both of them now or should I slow down a bit?

Stacks:

CO ($27.95)
Hero-button ($70.35)
SB ($22.40)

Preflop action:Hero is Button with Qc Qs

1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.50, 3 folds, CO raises to $2, Hero raises to $6, SB calls $5.75, 1 fold, UTG+1 folds, CO calls $4.

I raised for obv. reasons. Value and isolation. SB cold calling oop worries me a bit although he is very loose passive. Something to the tune of 31/3/1. CO is the table maniac. 65/21/3. Just a real LAGgy player.

So we have a big pot already(~$18) and nobody has really defined their hand.

Flop:
7c, 9h, 6c

SB checks, CO bets $2.

Hero...

My gut instinct is to get one or both committed to the pot right here. I guess this is where my problem is. I want a good line when playing a pot this size with one or more semi-short stacks.

Thoughts/ideas/criticisms/good recipes?

Raise pot.

Definitely raise and make them commit now. No reason to slowplay here since one or both oculd have overs to beat you. You don't mind playing for $20 odd more anyway, so do it now.

Bet $13-15.

Commits them to the pot and they may think that pushing will make you fold.

Or just put them all-in...

sb called 6 pre, but checked with that poor flop. We're probably going to lose him unless he chases. Likely on AK, AQ, or such and I wouldnt care if he folds or not here: odds in our favor but...

co threw 2 into 18... oh so weak. thats the one we want to hang onto. i'ld drag him in slowly. round started with him on 22, raise it to 7 and get more of him on the turn. just afraid anything too aggressive will chase him out now.

i don't think that we would be able to get them both, or either, all in here unless they're complete fish.

zinn0 is up $20 at the table. They MUST be fish.

zinn plays worse against fish than against high stakes pros

I wouldn't say dicks... more like bad comedians.

Yea, thats more like it.

I wouldn't quite bet the pot here probably closer to 2/3rd, if you get called you have to decide if you are either pushing or folding. In a live game it's probably easier to get a read, but this is the most important part of this pot. If a horrible card comes on the turn you are golden, if an ace/flush/straight card rolls off you have to consider getting away from this hand.

stack sizes relative to the pot are very important in this hand.

note your avatar =)

calling the flop here looks really weak ... the only way you can really fold to a flop raise is if SB pushes and CO calls ... sucks to be up against a bigger pair here but with the loose/passive and loose/aggressive players you'll probably usually be ahead here

said the young man wearing aviators and smoking a pipe.

Anyway, back to the hand, I raised to $20. OOP cold caller calls and Mr. LAG folds.

QQ holds up against TT and zinn0 smiles.
