I don't know much. But with his stack size there was not much point getting away from this pot. He could have made the same move with 10's , AK etc..
If he had a bigger stack and he would have still pushed, you could probably step away from this..

I made way stupider moves than this today... your play was actually pretty good, by virtue of stack size. Laying down JJ to a short stack with one overcard (the best overcard, really) is too nitty.

I think one can argue for a pre-flop all-in with a stack your size, only one player is likely to call you, and you're probably a coinflip.

I'd really only recomend this due to your shortstack, since you're out of position, and there is some dead money in the pot.

short stack? you mean the villian is on the short stack?

I think the call is a tough decision. But taking into account that 2 people called your raise and that you've only invested 3$ to this point, I'd say that 75% of the time I lay this down. Only when I have a good read that the villian is a LAG would I call

The reason i called so quickly is i was playing very agressive at this table and i had the feeling that people were getting sick of my act and he could be pushing with mid pair, AK, or Ax. Oh well, i just lost like $100 last night and i was pissed about this loss.

Looking back on it, it wasnt the worst play ive made, just steaming i guess. Thanks guys

I don't know how you can say the play was pretty good when he "only" had $3 in the pot- the pot was $10 and villain added another $10 to it. A $10 call to hopefully win $20 would be bad enough with an overcard out there, the raise makes it even worse.

The play was bad, but we've all done worse. He either let his ego get in the way (said he was playing very aggressive prior to the hand), or just put simply, he got married to the hand. I've done worse with AK making no pair at all, and for a lot more money.

The way I look at it, is you're only in the pot for $3. If he wants to steal your $3 so bad that he's willing to risk $10 to get it, just let him have it. You don't even have top pair!

Just live and learn & don't beat yourself up over it too much. Just realize why you decided to play the hand after the flop, so next time you can proceed a little more cautiously.

I don't mind the raise. After the decision was made to put in the 10$ you weren't going to fold for 5$ more so why not raise.
