Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

In general I prefer the same players. Random players force me to play more ABC poker which isn't as fun to me.

Don't let other players dictate your game. Your play should dictate what they do.

I always prefer to play with familiar players. At the levels I play, I trust my ability to read them more than I trust theirs to read me.

Doesn't matter. Give me a few minutes and I can figure out a player. Also as many do not mix up their play it tends to make it easy to read them and stick with your read. It is a good player who shifts up and down on his play that really leaves me wondering sometimes.

Personally, I prefer to play with people I don't know for 3 reasons:
1. Occasionally, I tend to make bad plays against players that I have played often because I have preconceived notions about their playing style. Playing with people I don't know allows me to play them better based on their current play, not how they played last week.
2. I'd rather take money from strangers than my friends. Don't get me wrong, their money spends just as well and I'm more than willing to take it from them, but I don't enjoy it as much when I know they have 2 kids, a mortgage payment, car payments, etc.
3. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out a new player.

yah basicly what Beer said
I tend to fall into FPS when im playing with people i know real well(even thoe Its also my Stiffest Compation)
When I play at foxwoods with a table of basicly strangers i play alittle bit more ABC poker but in a good way i do try to pull of Flashy Bluff's and then show them like i do at my Tuesday night game. but that is superfunny that a Tuesday night game with Ten Doller Buy in's is harder then 1/2nl at Foxwoods
