I really hate playing KQ when I'm not the one opening the pot, just for this exact reason. I fold pre...I'm also a 16/8 nit.

Preflop? Other than that, I really hate when I get into these situations too.

I don't play this hand for a raise preflop unless I am OTB or I really know the tendencies of my opponent. It just gets trapped and you can't play it profitably without flopping two pair or a strong draw. So, I fold preflop.

But, if I was in your spot, I am with supa in that I raise on the flop. This raise will define my hand for my opponent and will let me play my hand (hopefully heads up) more profitably (which includes losing less) on later streets. If he re-raises the flop, I fold. IF he simply calls the flop raise, then I re-evaluate on the turn and probably go for a cheap showdown unless I improve. Really depends on the opponent though.
