Guy behind me is an absolute maniac and ive been waiting 1+ hour to bust him. My set comes along and I do this:

Yeah, that flop is really gold for you...absolutely no draws to worry about. Call his raise and then check to him on the turn and then get it all in.

i dont think you played it horribly at all


if this guy has A-9 and you raise him now, he' ll probably be pretty willing to tangle with you. if you just call now, alot of turn cards can come up that will stop him from wanting to do his.. it also adds a little extra deception to your hand

If he really is an absolute maniac then I'd call here and check the turn ... don't insta-check though btw. Chances are he'll bet the turn and you can c/r all-in and get more value out of it.

Thats a pretty good point...if he has A9, K9s or something, he is feeling great about his hand. All of a sudden a Q comes out hes getting pretty scared.

On the flip side hes prob got A6s-Aks or KQs and I just scared him away, which is the most likely possibility.

You might not have got maximum value from the hand but I wouldn’t say you played it horribly.

Plus there’s probably a little value here from mixing up your play (which is difficult to quantify).
