Villain just sat down, but during previous encounters has been a little on the aggressive side.

All comments welcome as I am not really sure what I'm looking for here.

Also, is there some sort of rule of thumb with big pairs when dealing with these "large stack vs shortish stack" situations?

Well, I have to say I hate the CR on the flop. Makes no sense to me since you will be committing more money to a hand where you are only called (with the very possible exception of JJ) when you are behind.

I think the best way to play overpairs out of position is to bet at least the size of the pot on the flop and if called, shut it down and potnetially folded. We have to remember what the preflop re-raising hands are for a villain that we know nothing about (I would say in general they are AA-TT, AK and AQ). Against that range we are obly beating the overs and JJ so, a check raise isn't a good option.

I have found that it is much better to lead here and if called, check/fold. Some might think that is wimpy, but your poor position coupled with no read on an opponent who re-raises preflop demands that we protect our stack here. A large flop bet is usually the best way to get the information we need to do that.

yeah, I don't get the C/R as well.
Leading this flop show villain our strength.
Am not sure I am as good as Sharon to fold Q's here , but at least I'd be the one pushing.
