If its a homegame or a win at the Casino....all kinds of cards run through my head all night long. Last night I went to bed at 1 and couldn't fall asleep til 5 because I thought about:
How often I should go to the Casino
What it would be like to beat someone with a Royal when they have a Straight Flush
Beating someone with quads
etc...
I probably sound crazy and I just may be
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I got home from a local homegame at midnight last night. I was awake until almost 4am. I did have a Coke while I was there and I usually don't have caffeine after noon, so that may have had something to do with it, but all I could think about the entire night was how much more money I could've made if I hadn't been a responsible adult and gone home at a reasonable hour because I had to work today, and cursing this stupid job that keeps me from doing the things I really want to do. Of course, I couldn't afford to play poker if I didn't have the job, so it's a catch 22. That didn't keep it from going through my mind over and over last night though. I've been a semi-insomniac since I was 12. I wasn't able to drink last night because I was designated driver and that's usually my "sleep aid". That may have been another factor.
This happens to me quite often after playing live or online, win or lose. I see cards in my sleep when I finally get there too. Funny, I almost always have a winning session in my sleep.

I get the same thing online .... then I play again at 3 am after winning from 11 to 1, and then I enjoy losing most of it back in an hour or so

It might happen to me also, one day - haven't really won anything yet...
Just kidding (somewhat) had days when I finished infront, or won small S&G but nothing big enough to keep me from sleeping.
The last few month, been playing late at night after long long hours at work, so that could have helped as well..
When just started playing, and played a lot of freerolls was actually kept up after losing. Re-thinking my mistakes etc..

It is a tough thing to do, you're mind is racing while playing, calculating pot sizes and outs and whatnot, then when you stop it takes some time to come down.
Go for a walk, watch some tv, have sex, just take some time to do something relaxing before trying to sleep.
