Bump - need some advice.

Fold to the 4-bet on the flop. It is very obvious to me you're either CRUSHED, or your opponent is a real idiot, or you have a very wild table image.

I options B and C are not realistic, then this is an easy fold to his reraise (the 4th bet) on the flop. 99% of the time your hand is no good here.

As played, easy fold on the turn.

Going broke with TPTK with such a deep stack is pretty bad unless you have a very good reason to believe he has a weaker hand.

When I ride a pair that hard, I nearly always end up regretting it. Fold, maybe fold to the flop reraise.

You're up against 666 333 or a strangely played AA....

Due to the price of the 4-bet on the flop it's tough to lay down there, definitely fold the turn. Don't know why he'd push the turn with a set... he must only have a set of 3's and is a lil' scared.

Hmmm...I think I just call the flop raise by villain here and don't re-raise. That isn't a very draw heavy board, so a 4-bet there shows a lot of strength. I want to see a complete blank on the turn before I continue.

One pair hands in deep stack are tough to play and a lot of times you are better off just dumping them to a lot of heat. As played, this is an easy fold on the turn (or it should be).

I hate getting 4-bet with AK. Either way.. I probably call the 4-bet and fold the turn, too, for what it's worth. At 200 this is an obv set on FT, from what I've seen. Unless you have some mega-supremo reads (or you've been playing a certain style, which alot of ppl forget to think about) just let it go.

If it was against any other opponent I'd definately fold but I knew this guy to be extremely LAG and capable of big bluffs. His turn bet looked desperate and I knew he wasn't betting for value. I called and he mucked 99.

Posted Fri Jan 05, 2007 10:31 am GMT by supafrey
yeah this hand is pretty un-debatable. It's too dependant.

Posted Fri Jan 05, 2007 10:33 am GMT by LeafsFan1122
Getting almost 3:1 on the turn does anyone still say fold? While set is possible, I'm still putting this guy on K9-AK or simply random bluff.

He was very laggy but also stupid - the whole table was after him and everone knew what kind of player he was.

we're only getting 3:1 on the turn because of the misplay on the flop here ... we're drawing dead to set, drawing for a 3 or 5 outer for two pair or we're way ahead

the way he bets on the flop makes me think he has a set, since often when poor players connect they immediately think bet raise bet raise. I think you fold on the turn but also just call his initial raise on the flop

Okay, so, assuming my reads on this player are good but not like...100% accurate, theoretically how should I have played this hand VS the LAG?

Don't 3 bet the flop? He could be raising with anything though - Smaller king, smaller pair, ace high even.

The way it was player I would probably call the turn bet as well. Why would you call the flop if you're going to fold a blank turn?

I would probably just call the flop raise as well. Its only TPTK, lets try for a cheap SD.
Then, if he would have pushed the turn, which will be a hugh over bet, I'll have to listen to my guts. With very stupid aggressive players its usually Strong hand = weak betting and vice verse, so I'd be more inclined to call than
