Sick.

change the poker room. How can you play where you CAN'T see the mucked cards?

I guess you never want to play live, then, Mr. D? Wink

I do , very much so.
But it was my understanding that once in SD all hand most be seen. So I was thinking of tipping the dealer and telling him to always flip over the hands that got to SD Smile

Nope, not how it works. I could be a little off, but it's something like this: the person who makes the final bet and gets called is technically required to show. Anyone who calls at the end can see if they are beat, and then muck their cards*.

There is a rule that anyone at the table is allowed to announce 'I want to see that hand', referring to any hand mucked at showdown. This is in place, for one reason at least, to identify possible collusion. However, overuse of this rule (especially if you were not involved in the hand), is a serious breach of etiquette, and will not be looked at kindly by others. Basically, when you eventually play live, plan on seeing very few losing hands at showdown, and you certainly can't ask to see them just to get information on a player.

Sorry to jack your thread, King.

*If you pay attention to online cash games, you'll see that any hand that was 'mucked' at SD, but you were able to go the HH to see what they had, follows these rules. The sites that show mucked hands also do it to show the integrity of the site (that it's not rigged).

The Seminole HardRock Casino in Hollywood (Florida) has a printed house rule that all hands calling or being called at showdown will be shown. It isn't automatic but in one instance an aggressive pre-showdown bettor pushed his cards to the dealer when a winning hand was shown and a player announced that he wanted to see them. The dealer obliged over the objections of the losing player. (I always ask to see the house rules at a new casion--that's how I learned about the Golden Nugget's policy of unlimited reraises in FL when it is heads up after the river card.)

Nice hand, king.

I have asked the dealer to show me a mucked hand that called when I put them all-in on the river. He was new to the table, I'd paid to see his cards and that's why I asked. So, for the record, you can request to see the hand for informational purposes, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. The guy got up and left after I asked. Had I known he was going to buy in once, play one hand, go broke and then leave, I wouldn't have bothered asking.

King...my guess is one villian had AK, another had PP or pp and who knows what the other villian had. My biggest fear here would be 1010 with that flop but it worked out for you, which is good.

I would be interested to find out what others think of calling a 4xBB bet with 86s. He did have position but I still don't like the call. Discuss?

I'd rather call that hand in a raised pot than an unraised pot. You're more likely to realize your implied odds. Plus you have a better idea of what your opponent is likely holding.

Too much money in the pot to fold at that point. $4 to call with $16 in the pot already.

If the BB and other limper fold to the raise, I don't like the call.

I was thinking the same thing myself but I wanted to make sure I was thinking right. Thanks guys.

i definitely thought i was like drawing dead on the flop when all 3 called me. then when it went check-check-check on the turn i figured there must be lotsa draws out there and i was praying for an 8 or at least a 6

as for the hijacking, gunslinger, i dont mind it. your response was great and i agreed with it completely.... isnt the rule that the person who has been called has to show his cards? you pay by calling to see the hand, then you can show yours if you can beat it. i dont believe that you have the right to see a losing mucked hand. i always thought some sites have that just as a fun extra.... i would like to have it at doyles definitely, would be interesting.

but in live games? i dont think thats correct at all.. perhaps some casinos do it for the fun as well.. not because its the rules.
