Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I have always considered Stars to be the best overall.

what is paradise poker like/?

stars is the best overall if you don't like bonuses or rakeback.
If you do, other sites are better. ^_^
Most of the people on thp seem to be obsessed with important things like "how pretty are the buttons" and "how slow are the blinds" instead of things like.. "how much money i will make".

Fulltilt is great.

if you're going to go to full tilt don't use the referral bonus... take the rakeback of deposit bonus

sorry can you explain these bonuses further?
Posted Sun Jan 07, 2007 10:57 pm GMT by Ensano
some sites will offer bonuses for signing up. (ie PPoker gives 20% up to 100 I think for going there, or if you have a friend that refers you they can get 50$).. the problem though is you have to choose 1. (ie FT gives 100% up to 600 or 30% rakeback OR referal bonus of 50$) You can get a lot of good bonuses just from using the links from certain sites like this one http://www.texasholdem-poker.com. If you want a good site that will teach you the ropes of bonuses, I used (this is not a plug) http://bonuswhores.com... they give you the ABC of getting the most of your bonuses but I do recommend that if you sign up for an account at a site plz use the links provided by this forum.

I believe at Full Tilt you can do a referral bonus AND the 100% deposit bonus.
BTW-if you run the math, most of these bonuses just give you 40-60% of your rake back anyway. Better than nothing, but it isnt really free money.

RB is still better than any referral bonus, ever.

In FT you get 100% sign up bonus regardless of anything else.
You need to work to get the bonus, you have 4 month to do it, so unless you go broke its pretty easy.
With referral you get extra $25 once you play enough games and earn enough FullTilt points.
Now as the argument between RB (rakeback) and referral , I guess it depends how much you play and in what level.
if you play $200NL and play every day, sure you will reach the same amount in Rackback within few month.
However if you play micro tables and do not play often, it might take you much longer to earn those $25 in rake back.

It takes alot, alot, alot, alot less time than several months to make 25 in RB.

Hi. I'm trying to make a buck here
Seriously though, it really depends how much you play.

I heard that the $0.10-$0.20 NL Hold'em cash tables on stars are really tight.
Is this the case, or did my mate just get play on the wrong table????
Anyone?

yeah i have been.
i just let my brother play in the 25000 action poin buy-in $5000 freeroll cause his account on pokerstars is empty, as a favor. he proposed 50-50 but i made it 60-40, in his favor of course. there were ~460 players in it, he placed 2nd and took down $620. his roll got filled from $0 to $372 and i get a free $248.. makes me glad for him, he'd been grinding out the freerolls everywhere possible and this one was pretty juicy. HA! (he shoulda won it though..)

play bodog, they run awesome freerolls that are very easy to make money in. The players are also terrible.
