this monday we took a trip to our local casino (2 1/2 hrs away) and while waiting for my regular 5/10 limit game I decided to sit at the new 1/2 NL.
This game is was very tight, full of people waiting for the 10/20 game so I really didn't want to sit there long but after a couple pots and calling someones missed straight draw I was up about 100$ (I always buy in for the max 200$). Then all of a sudden the Poker Gods smiled upon me.
OTB with 10s UTG open raises to 6, it folds around to me so I make it 18 to go (wanting to find out where I stand). SB calls and UTG calls.
pot $66 flop comes 5-As-10s
SB bets out 15$, BB thinks for a bit then just calls. I didn't like the flush draw so I raised it (my mistake I didin't raise enough to price out the draw). I made it 45$ total. They both call.
pot $151 turn came a blank i think 8h
Sb pushes for 52$ more UTG thinks then just calls again. UTG has little over 100$ left, figuring the only hand i'm behind at this point is AA but AK or two spades is more likely, I push to really price out the draws.
UTG asks how much it is for him to call, my answer was smug but simple
"everything you got"
I guess that made him think I was weak so he called.
pot 560$!!
river 2s!!!!! filling the flush. My heart sank when I saw the 3rd spade...
SB shows A-5 1 spade, UTG AK 1 spade. I don't think I could've asked for a better flop with these hands. I netted 350+ on this hand. I wanted just just walk away there and sit in the car waiting until my friends were done. I really didn't think it was going to get any better from there

Rule 1: Never stop playing when the poker gods are shining on you. If your on a winning streak you should keep playing till either a) you get tired or sleepy or b) something or someone comes into the area and start disrupting your concentration. (It's not my advice...it is in all the poker books... ).
Glad to hear the gods are smiling on someone...way to go Insano...

yeah i know never to leave a good game but I really didn't think this was a good game in ther first place because....
1) 200 NL is way above my BR (i'm staked for 50NL with a BR of 1k) not to mention I've never played in that game before but I've been told it's really hyper aggressive
2) 6 of the players there were waiting for their seat in the 10/20 limit game ( doesn't mean they're necessarily better but....)
3) because people were waiting to leave I knew that just as I would be getting comfortable with the opponent they'd be gone in less than an hr
4) seat in a juice 5/10 limit (my normal casino game) was ready for me..
5) would give me a chance to kinda start/stop and buy in to the new game with only 200 and almost guarantee I'd be up this session
