Let me just say right out the gate that I'm a total noob at this game so this question is going to be bad:
Should you dump every starting hand that is suited?
eg    
I assume that the answer is definitely yes but I figure I'll get clarification from one of the Omaha maestros we have here.

Nah not really. Flushes do play a big part in Omaha, but if it isn't the nut flush then they are not really worth that much unless you can combine a FD with another hand such as a wrap around straight, two pair etc.
Potentially strong hands in Omaha are KQJT QJT9 4567 etc. When ypu have four connected cards regardless of suit I would probably play them. It helps if you have some sort of flush potential.
Also hands like 2468 havea lot of potential.
So in short, no I wouldn't fold every hand 4 of the same suit.

I figured since you were holding your own outs, the chances of hitting said flush were fairly poor?

Thats true, but you aren't playing the hand solely for the flush potential.

Yeah what aaron said. I was trying to say that although FD's are important hands like KQJTs are still valuable.

No, you should not dump EVERY hand that had 4 cards suited, but it does work against your hand to have all 4 cards of the same suit.
The basic idea is to have all 4 cards working together somehow, but if they work together without much flush potential, that's fine (and you CAN still make a flush with 4 suited cards... it's just harder).
Having 4 suited cards probably isn't a "make or break" criterion for the hand. If the hand is good, having it be completely suited probably isn't a big drawback, and if the hand is bad, it should be dumped for reasons other than the fact that it's all suited.
