I was unsure of what the correct play is here. I'm getting slightly better than 2:1. What hand ranges am I looking at from these two guys, and how was my play prior to this street?

Suited three gapper? Yikes. I imagine one of them has a big ace, probably AK, but against two players I don't know how your flush could be good. That big bet makes him look like he's trying to take away odds for the draw, but..... I just can't make that call.

I say fold and risk making a bad laydown. Risk/reward gap is too big in my mind. Too big a chance that your hand is no good... plus there is the chance that even if your hand is good against one villain, the other could still outdraw you on the river with a better flush or full house.

I gotta go with fold and risk egg on the face here.

Oops. I called, first player had Q7d and the other had 42d.

Live and learn.

Fold PF.

I disagree.

Posted Sat Jan 27, 2007 1:17 am GMT by aaronw
Why? Suited three gappers are not very strong. You can hit your hand and still not have the best hand like what happened here. What type of flop are you hoping for? TT6? Other than that I can't think of a great one. You can flop a flush and be losing. Any straight you flop isn't the nuts.

Posted Sat Jan 27, 2007 12:15 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
Despite T6d not being a strong hand, the implied odds are still there. With three limpers before me and the SB and BB who will complete, (if they raise it's an easy fold), I'm getting 5:1. Flopping a flush will usually be a win, TT6 is obviously a win, 66x, TTx, ev then flopping two pair is usually okay. In addition to this I'm on the button for better post flop position. The stacks are full too.

I don't think the call PF is the issue.

What is the issue then? Just getting unlucky to run into a bigger flush? I think that players run into these situations because they are playing marginal hands. If you feel comfortable playing these, thats cool. However, I think you will run into a lot of situations like this while playing the suited 3 gappers.

Also, once you get there, I think you have to call.

Originally I thought the turn call was fine too, but apperantly It's a fold according to the posters.

Anyways, I don't play the suited 3 gappers often, just thought that this time would be okay to see a flop. The flop happened to hit me decently and the turn completed my hand.

Rigged.

I dunno. I think one of them could have a set and the other could have a small flush or a pair + FD. I don't mind a call here though. Not much you can do.

Posted Sat Jan 27, 2007 12:34 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
I was thinking set too. That or Kd FD.

But with those pot odds, I really only needed to win the hand like 33% of the time for it to be profitable. I'd say that is reasonable.
