Ok, .50/$1 NL first hand of night.
I get 22 on the button. I limp in with four others.
Flop: 3-9-8 rainbow.
All check to me, do I check, bet $1, or bet pot?
I just wondered. Checking probably best move.
In reality guy before me bet $3 so I folded.

IMO the only safe play w/ pocket 2's is limp and hope to hit a set, if you dont...check/fold

If it gets checked to you in that spot, bet 1/2 to 3/4 the pot or whatever amount you'd normally bet there when you make a hand. There really is no reason to check there even if you held 2 napkins.
With you limping and 3 overs facing a bet of around pot it's an easy fold on that flop.

I'd say check/fold if you don't hit the set.

If its only you and another person, Id def. make your normal bet after the flop, like juaron said, 1/2 the pot or 3/4. With 4 limpers and yourself in the pot, you are no doubt going to get a caller, so fold it to any bet.

If it is limped to you in a late position bet, otherwise call any reasonable bet. After the flop, If you are the original raiser and no one bets in front of you, bet to non scary board with or without help, otherwise check. Fold to any bet after the flop without help.

I just check. The chances of taking this down with 4 other players in the pot is very slim. Save your money.

I don't like the odds of improving to 3 of kind on the Turn or River, so I wouldn't even class a bet as a semi-bluff.
I'd check it and be glad its such an easy hand to get away from if someone bets.
