Last night I faced two maniacs , one at a cash game and one at a S&G.
First guy, raised 2-3 a round in a full ring game anything between 7.5XBB to 17.5XBB and managed to get people to call with crappy hand. Almost never fold to a raise...
He cleaned my stack when I reraised him with AQ from the BB, he put me allin, I call. And his A6 did caught two pairs on the flop.. (any thought about this play)
anyway, so I chase him to a 6 hand table , where he continued the same and actually built a 5Xbuyin stack.
I sit UTG with AQo and just limp. He checks in the BB
nice enough flop : $0.30
He lead for $0.75 - and I'm sure he totally missed this. So I smooth call
Turn is an harmless $1.80
and again he leads - $1.25.. And I smooth call again.
What are your thoughts about this? Should I put my foot down. Is it time to reraise now?
river is $4.30
and he leads for $2.25 ....
thoughts?
2nd maniac was in 45 player S&G. FT he has a big chip stack and leads every un raised pot from the CO or button.
I managed to get even in chips when I push with A7, SS call with A4 and he calls with Q7o..
then this happen :
Full Tilt Poker Game #1678295269: $1 + $0.25 Sit & Go (12308533), Table 2 - 400/800 - No Limit Hold'em - 18:26:28 ET - 2007/01/26
Seat 3: badman57 (16,580)
Seat 7: nobody4youhere (26,915)
Seat 8: hero (24,005)
nobody4youhere posts the small blind of 400
hero posts the big blind of 800
The button is in seat #3
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to hero
badman57 folds
nobody4youhere calls 400
hero checks
*** FLOP ***
nobody4youhere bets 800
hero calls 800
*** TURN ***
nobody4youhere bets 800
hero calls 800
*** RIVER ***
nobody4youhere bets 4,800
hero calls 4,800
Thoughts about that ?
btw, Maniac play seem to work in this level.
both those players where extrimly aggressive. Raising any Ax, any suited cards etc... Though the S&G guy did manage to fold to resistance most of the time..
Beside the hand he knocked me off at 3rd.
I raise from the button with 79s he flat call from the BB.
flop 27Q rainbow. He leads - I push and he calls with A8o.
give me a break, we were almost even in chips. What kind of a call is that. Of course he spike a 8 to knock me off

I like the cash game hand. If he is very bluffy I like that you gave him the chance to bluff off his chips. Calling is definately the best option against these players because you give them the chance to keep bluffing and you make the most money this way. If you had raised him anywhere, he may have just folded and you would have won less money. Sometimes he will show up with a monster, but that isn't going to happen often. These types of players are very likely to get paid off when they hit a monster because nobody ever believes them.
Hand 2 is a little bit more sketchy because your hand is a lot weaker. If you think you have the best hand, calling him down is definately the best option.
