The end of the road...sorta. |

Well, it appears as if my serious poker playing days are coming to an end. I was never really as hardcore as most of the guys here, but I took it pretty serious most of the time.
It was a nice side income for the last year and a half, and sometimes I'll miss it, but overall, poker is something I don't really take an interest in anymore. That, coupled with the new law and the fact that it is just going to be a hassle to move monies around has sort of expedited this decision.
I've withdrawn all but $100 of my bankroll, mainly to play around with when I get bored, to see how much I can run it up to before cursing at the fact that it would take 6 years to withdraw. I guess its fitting really, as I started with a $100 deposit on Stars back in June of 2005. I had hopes of paying off some of my student debt after I graduated, and maybe eventually I can still do that. I guess it just depends on how all of these changes ultimately affect traffic to the sites. Only time will tell.
As much fun as it is to make fun of UAU or to watch Supa "pwn nubs" when he thinks he knows everything, I doubt I'll be spending much time here on the forums, either. Contrary to my play, I've actually learned a thing or two here at THP. Anyway, I guess thats about it.
Good luck to all those who need it, good cards to the rest.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I worry I'm headed down that same road... but then I realize I'm an addict and I'll be down to play again in like 3 days.
Dunno if it's the same story, but good luck either way man.
