Would you call here based on what he said?
He seems like a loose cannon, but i didnt want to risk a lot of $ because i just thought it was a poor attempt to be "sneaky" with a monster hand

He claimed he had a medium A. The guy to act after me will call any raise at all, so i was very worried about him too. While looking back the fold seemed like an easy lay down, but i was having trouble laying it down while playing.

Do ANY of you call here and why?

Yes. I might call if I have genuine reason to believe he probably does not have a bigger pair.

Even if ur entire BR was at that table?

If i had $500 in my account id call that in a heart beat, i had trouble doing it with only $99 in my BR. If it was HU at that point, i think i would have called in a second as well, but that other guy behind me was nuts.

The one that said he was pushing seemed like he was one of those players who was just looking for a quick double up too, so he prob had something marginal like an A7.

How long did he stay at the table afterwards?

I turn the chat off now so I never read these things anyway. Never put any stock into something typed in a chat window.

He stayed for about 10-12 more hands and left.

Was he "bored" enough to push in any of those hands before he left?

Nope, he was just talking crap the whole time, but never pushed again. I guess that prob. a sign that he had a monster. I played only about 15-20 hands with him before he pushed there, so i guess a better read on him would have been more beneficial.

Also if he lost a lot of his stack while sitting at the table if he was on tilt, etc. I guess you could say this was a safe/conservative lay down because i didnt have too big of a BR and would rather risk 35% of my BR on a different hand Smile

Shame on you for putting yourself in that situation in the first place.

If that's the case I advise folding and moving immediately to a table with lower stakes so such notions will not affect your play.

Wayyyy too logical Diamond, sorry.

I have major BR issues and i should address those very soon.

Maybe goto $25NL with 4 buyins?

I find i play better at higher stakes because bluffs are actually respected and people dont call every single hand

Fold - you are racing at best.

Those are usually tells of strength. In any case, would you have called had he said nothing?

And to second Diamond , don't sit with your entire BR - unless you can deposit more again, which means this is only your online money...

I had a similar thing in a S&G , guy claimed to had enough and pushed I folded 6's another guy called.
First guy had A7o, 2nd guy AJo ... Needless to say, I would have flopped a set Smile
