PokerStars Tournament #41629995, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $10.00/$1.00
686 players
Total Prize Pool: $6860.00
Tournament started - 2007/02/02 - 14:15:00 (ET)
Tournament finished - 2007/02/02 - 17:51:13 (ET)
1: Volscam (Huesca), $1715.00 (25%)
2: IOwnFejj (SB), $980.98 (14.30%)
3: timea1975 (timisoara), $631.12 (9.20%)
4: trintdaddy (Oklahoma City), $473.34 (6.90%)
I won roughly $1,000 for my 2nd place effort which i will gladly accept, disapointing loss HU, but this has been by far my best MTT performance yet, outlasted 685 people, im on cloud 9 now!
Now im wondering what to do with my $1,200 BR to manage it wisely. Do i play in $20 Sng's?
I have played exclusively in $5.50 SnG's so im worried that if i make a big jump to $20 i will face much tougher/better opponents and will effect my ~40-42% ITM rate.
What i would usually do is roll it into $5/10NL and go from there, but i want to be smart this time

Maybe some $100 rebuys?
Oh no wait! that's me!
Seems like you want someone to say yes, step up? You could certainly give higher sng's a try if you play 20 or so without doing well you could step back down.
You could withdraw some and have some fun on your poker profits.
It all depends what you want to do? Are you playing poker to be the next big thing or are you playing to make some extra cash to have fun with.
Nice scoop by the way, don't feel too bad about 2nd, you did great! Enjoy it!

Update: played 2 $22 SnG's, came in 7th and 2nd.
I am going to drop down to $11 SnG's because i really dont have $1,200 in my BR, id say its closer to $200-400 because i want at least 800 for my vegas trip.
I am going to keep playing <$11 buyin tourneys, $11 SnG's and the occasional $22 heads up matches tourney because i love that one.

LOL if it was me I'd go straight to the $109 and $235 SNG's, and blow it all the same day
Congrats, hopefully many more big cashes to come!
PS- bankroll management is really a myth

yepp i agree, play some 10+1 tournies and maybe once a week, do a 20 dollar one if you feel good... continue to do MTT's and just make changes how your poker is going...
goodjob

I suggest climb one level at a time in the S&G.
I've decided to only step up once I cash 3 times in a row in one level.
For MTT, again, step up a little.
Good luck and enjoy the hot streak

Start tackling the $11 SnG's, and play in the rebuys with guaranteed prize pools... that's where the real money is.
Also, you may want to try some $50 NL cash games if you feel up to it. Additionally, if you feel like trying something new, read my guide and head over to the $1/$2 - $2/$4 Stud-8 tables and find some fish while learning a new game.

Leave about $500~ in your account.
Play NL25 cash games and 11$ sit'n'gos splashed in with a few $22 sit'n'gos. Once you've played 40-50 11$ STTs and if you are comfortably successful you can move exclusively to the 22s. Personally I prefer 27 person or 45 person sit'n'gos b/c if you are running well the payout is much better. Plus the early stages are filled even donkier plays. You'll get more 3-5ths, but if you're good you can cash in these like crazy.
Play the 25K Guaranteed tournament on Pokerstars - it's a 5$ rebuy tournament, the play is horrible and the payouts for the final table are (relatively) huge. I think it runs every day at 5 or 6pm. The 55K GTD is another excellent tournament, 10$ rebuy every night at 10pm.
After making this cash, I wouldn't waste it and leave only 200 in your account, if you need more money for vegas, take money out of your life bankroll. Keep this cash online and work hardhardhardhard and move up/make monies.

And yeah that is a huuuuge burn finishing second. Gotta hate playing a Heads-Up sit'n'go for $725, really gotta hate losing it.
