When we talk about great tournament poker players the same names keep coming up Ivey, Hellmuth, Negreanu, Juanda etc. All the top TV pros.
But what about some of the online sensations? A lot of these players are too young to play in a casino, but are still raking it in hand over fist online.
Case in point Annette_15
This 19 year old Norwegian internet phenom (as Mike Sexton would no doubt describe her) is reported to never have made a deposit online, she won a few $'s in a freeroll and ground her way up to where she is today, several hundred thousand dollars richer.
Recently named as the top ranked tournament player online, becoming not only the youngest, the first female but also the first non American to do so.
In 2006 her tournament profits are estimated to be close to $1/2 million (that's profits, not just winnings.) In January of this year alone she has won more than $100,000 and is this week's TLB winner on pokerstars.
Who knows what the future holds, but if Annette Obrestad is still crushing tournaments when she turns 21... the live pros better watch out.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I read about her recently on a link Mike sent me, it's amazing. I wonder if she will have the same ability live? I would doubt it but you never know.

Being 19 she's obv. too young for most of the major live tourneys, but i seem to recall that she did pretty well in the UB Aruba tourney last year, 37th for $12000.
She busted fairly early on day 1 in the PCA tho, did she hit the beach, did she go out partying? Nope, she sat in the lobby playing tourneys online.

apparantly she was in the lobby playing mtts (20-25 tourneys a day) every single day of the trip. =/

This is of course a good point. A question all of us need to ask ourselves. Why ae we playing poker? Are we playing to make money to enjoy that money or are we playing to to make money to keep playing.

My guess is she loves the game/is an addict.
You got a bunch of young norwegian kids ripping up the toughest poker games these days. Bad_ip, LuckyULSA and Anette_15 is just a few I guess.
I guess it's a cool life as long as you keep winning.
