Couple hands from last night... |

Went to play some 4/8 last night after the hockey game (GO FLAMES!). Game is loose as usual and plenty of big pots to go around.
Hand 1:
I'd just taked down 5 pots in a row, showing 2 winners and taking to down with "bluffs". Kill was on so I was forced to post $8 UTG w/ AJo. I raise it to $16 right away and get 2 callers behind along with the BB.
Flop comes K72 rainbow.
BB bets, I call, one caller behind me and the rest fold.
Turn T.
BB bets, I raise, fold behind so its back to BB. He sits there for about 5 minutes before finally folding face up... AA.
Couldn't believe it. I showed him my AJ and he was pissed. Still can't figure out why he folded it. Only a couple possible hands that could be hit... a set or KT.
Hand 2:
I limped on the button along with 4 others w/ A9c. Blinds play so its a 7 person flop.
Flop: AQ6 all diamonds.
Checks around to me so I fire out a bet. I get called by the BB and one other.
Turn: A
Checks to me again and I bet. BB calls. Other guy folds.
At this point I'm fairly certain I'm ahead and that BB is drawing to the flush.
River: 9
Awesome. If he was drawing to his flush, he hit and I filled up.
BB bets, I raise, he re-raises, I 4 bet... he 5 bets... I'm thinking damn he must love his flush or maybe he has a set of 6's, either way I'm sitting pretty. I 6 bet, he then says that if I want we can both go all-in. The dealer asked me if I was okay with this. Since it was heads up and no cap on the betting if both players agreed the casino would allow it. I had about $60 left behind me which villian covered.
What do I do?

Um, you dont have the nuts so I just call his last bet. Each time you get rereaised, the less likely he is to have a non-nut hand. Would you 5 bet with less than the nuts?
Unless the guy is an idiot, or he thinks you are, I say just call his 7-bet.

I would still push in.
The only way I could get away from that hand is if it was a super tight player.
And that would only be based on years of playing with the guy

If he had AQ and didn't raise that turn he's a sneaky bastard. I'm all in!

Don't forget to think about what he thinks of you as a player.
So, let's say you think he's a pretty decent player, and you've been playing tight; is he observant enough to recognize that, and only keep betting with the stone cold nuts?
From Skibbles' description of the table generally, it doesn't sound as if anybody's that conscious, and even so, it doesn't sound as if he was playing particularly tight.
I think I'm all in, if he has AQ, congratulations to him.

Its not quite as easy as that. Typical live 4/8 players are going to have the AQ here quite a bit of time actually. He played it weird if he did, not putting in a raise somewhere before the river. I think your image leans me toward just sticking it in and seeing that has A6, or A9 for the tie.

When he asked if he could put me all-in I was 100% sure he didn't have the flush. That just left a bunch of poorly played hands such as a set or AQ. And being 4/8... I decided to just call. Of course he flipped AQ.
So he didn't raise pre-flop, the flop or the turn... I couldn't believe it.
