Ok, we discussed how one should play AK in cash game. What about the less strong hands - AQ - AJ.
Do you raise them from EP?
Do you call a raise from LP? What about the blinds?
Now if you did raise and was called how do you play if you do spike an A and your c-bet is called?

at .1/.25 and .25/.50 full ring I don't play either from EP... also in general I don't call a raise with them unless I have a really good reason to (maniac is raising every 3 out of 4 hands)
I'll raise in LP if there's limpers and in mp+1 if folded to... these aren't the greastest hands because when you do get action post flop you're likely to be outkicked...

LIMIT: I will call a raise w/ AQ, not AJ. Depending on the player raising, I will laydown AQ as well preflop. Sometimes your best hands are the ones that you dont get involved in. If a tightass player who just raises w/ AK AQ AA KK QQ JJ opens w/ a raise, as hard as it is, you need to lay down big aces.
Now, no raisers, I will definately raise w/ AQ AJ. If many have limped, I might just call in LP, since my outs could very well be in other's hands.
If a LAG player raises, I wont be afraid to 3 bet w/ these hands.

As always, it depends. I'll usually limp with them in EP. If there's a raise behind me, it depends on what type of player raised. If it's a tight player who plays very few hands, I'll probably fold. LAG, I'm calling to see a flop.
In LP, I'll usually raise if it hasn't already been raised. These hands can be extremely profitable, but you have to know when to lay them down. I stacked 2 players last night at $10 NLHE with AQ (one had QT and the other had an inside straight draw & bet the hell out of it when I hit top 2 pair). I also lost a portion of it back to a TAG player because I wasn't paying attention. I should've folded that AQ even when I hit TPTK because that guy only played premium hands. He had KK and, fortunately, since I'm a TAG player and he was paying attention, the pot stayed semi-small in comparison to the others.

I agree with Wench. Know your other players well before you decide how to play these two hands. Play them smart too.
I often limp in with AQ or AJ from EP. If I know a player yet to act is playing like a maniac then I usually call to any raise. On the other hand if I know that a player left to act is playing only premium hands, then I will often call with AQ but lay down AJ in EP.

is AJ that big a Dog compared to AQ.
I mean i realy play them both basicly the same way.
I will Limp or Raise with them depending on the way the table is playing.
