Hiya I wouldn't normally do this.....Supafrey |

...but this calls for drastic action.
I have recently been very alarmed for our beloved Supafrey A.K.A Pavel. It started a little while ago when Supa was running quite hot and I think it was his ego that went from big to absolutely enormous.
Now, me and supa are in the IRC chat quite a lot (You should all come and join us) and he does say some funny things. I am going to try and highlight a few of those right now.
Some of you may know, that I have been branching out in the games I play. I used to just play NL Holdem, but I have decided thanks to a friend of mine to learn a few others including Fixed Limit Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo, Fixed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Razz.
I do enjoy playing all the games and have played a lot of them and HORSE too.
Now, as you may have noticed in another thread that Pavel and Ciso have been playing a lot of HU No Limit Holdem. A lot has got to do with the ego and I know this is the case for Pavel.
Pavel made the claim that he could take on anyone at any game on THP. Now, so he doesn't keep trying to find loop holes in his words, he said it at the time while I was an active member, hence he meant me as well.
I played him in a Stud SNG. I was quite happy to play him at any stakes, here is the evidence.
03:42 <Drago5Peat> 5+
03:42 <Drago5Peat> readY?
03:42 <Zing> shat buyin?
03:42 <Zing> what*
03:42 <Drago5Peat> what would you prefer
03:42 <Drago5Peat> oh
03:42 <Drago5Peat> i said 5+.25
03:42 <Zing> $100 or $200
03:42 <Drago5Peat> hrms
03:42 <Zing> oh ok
03:42] <Zing> i dont mind
03:43 <Drago5Peat> i'd do up to 50
03:43 <Drago5Peat> but it really is my worst game
03:43 <Zing> $50 then
03:43 <Zing> but you are DA CHAMP
03:43 <Drago5Peat> stud fixed 52.5
I won this tournament quite easily and I was going to leave it at that, until a few days ago I became aware of something else he said....
<ScanX> (BaldoFan) i made it pretty clear a long time ago that i'd play anyone here for anything
I was quite disturbed at this because it is a very silly thing to say. I couldn't let Pavel get away with this and so I reminded him of what he said the next day and I challenged him to play me at a Heads Up Cash game of Stud, Stud H/L or Razz.
At this point he refused that he had ever said this. It's a good job though that my computer logs everything in the IRC chat so here are just a few things he has said in the past....
<UrAteUp> hey Supa...willing to take on anyone?
<UrAteUp> stud
<pavelz> matters what stakes
<pavelz> but yes
00:17 <THP`Craig1> just say i don't wanna play it because i dont know how
00:17 <THP`Craig1> thats fine
00:17 <pavelz> lol i can outplay you any day in stud8
00:18 <pavelz> stud hi, prolly too
After refreshing Pavel's mind on what he said, he then decided he has "Retired" from those games, even after stating he would play anyone for anything. He also mentioned although I don't have it right here "I even played Craig at a Stud SNG because of what I said"
After beating Ciso for a few hundred he mentioned that he felt empty inside and that this must be how Batman felt when he had killed the joker.
I stated again that I would quite happily play him at any one of those games. I'd even play him at HORSE so there was a few community card games for him to outdraw me on, but again he refused stating he had "Retired".
Also in IRC he had stated that he had observed me a lot at the Stud tables, this was after a chat we had about myself being staked by a Pro poker player, insinuating (sp) that I was not that good.
Again I reminded him of this but he would still not play me. I asked him why he was dodging and he never replies. So after not much progress while Pavel tries frantically to find loop holes in his words so he doesn't have to play me, while quite clearly stating he could outplay me and that he would play anyone at any game depending on stakes it had to come to this.
I am publicly calling out Supafrey and challenge him to a game of HORSE, Stud, Stud H/L or Razz at stakes 5/10 or higher, how ever high he wants to go. I wouldn't normally do this here, but after his words and the back pedalling I feel you all should know this and decided to make it public.
If you would like me to play Pavel at one of these games then please state which game and vote yes in the poll.
While you think about it, I stumbled across a few pictures of our beloved hero.

Supa isn't an egomaniac, he occasionally plays one on the internet, but I assure you that he isn't.
I'm also sure that he knows he isn't the best poker player in history, and that when playing a game he is not specialized in against someone who is specialized in it for amounts that are probably unhealthy for his bankroll, it is exremely unwise for him to play.
Just because you say you'll play anyone doesn't mean it isn't simply in the spirit of fun.
hell, I will play ANYONE here! ABSOLUTELY ANYONE AT ANY GAME!
But I know I'm not better than most of the people here, I can't handle the limits that most of you play...
I'm unimpressed by this thread.
Although IT would be awesome to see a death match, and it woul dbe awesome to see the underdog win.

If someone isn't going to put their money where their mouth is, they should shut up in the first place.
You want to be a gambler/pokerplayer on a serious level that is one of the absolute cardinal rules; you don't proclaim a wager and then step down when called out on it. Even as a joke.
Now, other than that I can't imagine there is some sort of feud or bad blood going on here, my impression this is all done in good stride, and Supa isn't taking any worse beating than those he has dished out in the past.
Posted Wed Feb 07, 2007 3:38 pm GMT by supafrey
you realize i was "challenged" in that one too?!
ciso basically demanded i play him.
he actually came on to one of my 200nl tables yesterday and i really laid a hurting on him, again. like.. for a lot. i imagine it would be the same vs craig, but i've retired from all those other silly games.

Haven't you two played each other before? Or was that just with each other?...
Well, if it does happen, Crack buddy I am cheering for you. Not because I don't like Supa, I think he is a fine lad.
Either way THP has some top poker talent and it is good to see some razzing and rivalry...

Skribbles: I couldn't care for the attention. If Supa had just said he took back his comments this wouldn't be here. I am not a dog wh needs to be stroked and told he is a good boy. Also I am quite happy to needle Supa when I get the chance and can be bothered, I mean he does it enough to everyone else so why the hell not?
Jauron: You might want to avoid a few of the forums on 2p2 then including BBV
beerwench: Yeah, I needed to stay awake for the dentists (which really hurt) and this took up about 45 mins, time well spent.
skribbles: Yeah I pretty much got the idea after his HU with ciso. I will state again though this is not about cocks.
exit music: It would be unhealthy for Supafrey to play me at any of these games, he knows that, which is why he won't play me. I can accept that, what I cannot accept is that he cannot say something like he has (All the qoutes in my first post and he still continues) and then when he gets the challenge decide "nah".
He is almost saying "I will challenge any of you at any game, as long as I know I am better than you and will win in the long run"
So what tame said, put up or shut up.
tame: Nah there is no bad blood between Supafrey and I. He knows I him.
Supafrey: Why don't you make that imagination become reality, please please please. Your attitude still amazes me. Replace "Retired" with "Dodge"
UAU: Thank you. We played a heads up 7 card stud SNG a few months ago which I took down. Like I said, I was prepared to leave it at that till Pavel started talking again. What can I do? I am not going to let him get away with it am I?
ninetensuited: You hit the nail on the head. Not the prick bit, because I don't think supa is a prick, but if he didn't talk and say silly things while growing his own ego and looking cool in front of his peers, this would never come about.

Actually, for an internet forum this one here (THP) is surprisingly full with real content.
As long as it is at least 70% Poker I'm staying. And at the moment its more like 95%.
Sure there are few Russians whores around, few Real estates agencies and the odds web bots, not to mention the occasional ego fights - but it all makes for a fun read. And lets face it, if it really bother you, you always have the option of not reading a particular post.
And Crack, no offense, but you can't post a topic that is basically trying to prove that you are better then someone and claim you don't need the attention. If you really didn't care, I guess this post wont be here to begin with.
And I do agree with Supa, why should he play with someone that can easily take his money
Good luck to you both.
Posted Thu Feb 08, 2007 4:38 am GMT by crack
Well all I can tell you is the truth and that is....
This thread has been made to try and make somebody stick by thier word or not say such silly things in the first place and for entertainment purposes.
I didn't mention the SNG that we had played afterwards here (a few months ago), so if it was about the attention then I might have done.
I haven't posted on here for a long time with any achievements I have made (There has been a few) so I am sure it's not for the attention or the pat on the back but I can see what it might look like.

I think the whole forum needs to lighten up a bit. It isn't about if Crack can beat Supa...and it damn well isn't a popularity contest or a post to make people say oh Supa is better or no Crack is better. Crack himself said it was just to get someone to put their money where their mouth was.
So no need to side with Supa or Crack. Also no need to call either of these gents names. Jeez...are we freaking kids here? Oh wait...thats an insult to the youngsters who seem to be more grown up then some here. The idea for us non-participants is to just set back, let it happen and when these two cats stop (catfight...get it girls?)...and discuss the hands that they post or we railbird and watch.
Either way I think it will be a classic battle to behold and I wish both these two the best of luck.
Hats of to you Gents...and remember I told either of you I would challenge you HU in my buy-in levels...you both turned me down..
Maybe you both are a little Yellow and affraid of me? ...just admit it boys and save yourself embarrasement by getting beat by a micro-level player... . You can even PM me the admition. I won't spread it around THP.

Part of what makes something a challenge is to play on a level playing field, in poker this has to include playing at stakes that matter to everyone involved. As an example, if you talked a pro into playing you in a $1 game, it would be like challenging a nascar driver to a go kart race for $1- you won't get their full attention/effort/etc (since the stakes are meaningless to them) and it doesn't really prove anything if you win.
I'm not trying to put you (or anyone else) down, just need to point out that to really challenge supa or crack you have to be willing to play at their level (or at least play for enough money to make them care about the results)

Actually a NASCAR driver will take the challenge. They'll race anything, anytime, anywhere! Card players need more than $1.

Sorry, I'm not much of a ASSCAR fan, just trying to make an example. If you say that I could call up Jeff Gordon (or whoever) and challenge him to a Go Cart race- and he would accept the challenge and give the same effort as he would for the Daytona 500- I guess I'll have to take your word for it...
