question:neteller restrictions

Posted Thu Feb 08, 2007 12:36 am GMT by xxadrianxx
i'd like to start playing online for real$ so i set up a neteller account and tried to transfer money from visa but it said i had some kind of restriction. i don't recall ever being asked about any restrictions. is this normal, do i have to call visa to change this or is that just the way it is?. i would prefer to use paypal but apparently that doesn't work with online poker. i could also use my bank account but i would prefer not to.

thanks

if I remember correctly you have to call them or they call you (something like that) and you confirm your info before you can start moving money...

well this was last week and no one has called me yet.

I'm assuming you're not in the United States, because if you are, you can give up now.

i wouldnt use neteller right now...the us govt just arrested their founders, and neteller is no longer accepting business w/ us customers....i would recommend epassaporte, i've used them in the past...you have to jump through some hoops but it worked and the fees werent too bad

what is the best way for US players to transfer money to stars or FTP or ??

Posted Thu Feb 08, 2007 6:50 pm GMT by Sid Lambert
epassaporte seems to be the one w/ the most support right now for us players...like i said, i've used it, it was fine...click2pay is working and FTP just started to use MyWebATM

...and just so you dont bother, Neteller, Firepay, Citadel and Instadebit are no longer accepting US deposits....paypal, visa, mastercard and all brick and mortar banks all quit accepting years ago...altho i think there are some sort of gift cards from banks that will work, not really sure about those

...and for a little more post padding...

YouTeller says they will be servicing americans in March, trying to take over where neteller went down...i expect many more services to pop up soon, however youteller has been pretty well publicized...

click2pay is working only for non-us, or 'old' us accounts: they no longer accept new accounts from us players.

id say right now a good way to go if you dont plan on cashing out regularly is the visa gift cards, you may have to get a paper check, but they're pretty careful about these things

i finally decided i was going to use the instant echecks yesterday so off i went to the bank.i got there 20min after closing. f#*%. i had just met my goal off 1 million play chips and subsequently was no longer interested in playing for play money. i really wanted to play this weekend so instead of waiting until monday i resorted to using the western union method.

i sent 75$cad including fees and i got 53$us

this is a terrible deal. ridiculous fees and exchange rate.

so for anyone thinking about using western union, don't.

p.s. this is with pokerstars

If you still have a "bank account OPTION" to move funds directly from your bank to the website... then why not open up a separate bank account?

No offense , but if you want to be a great poker player you will need to learn some patient. Smile
30% costs does seem a lot, and you would really love to have those extra $$ in your account as you grind to build a BR.

In any case, good luck.

I advise you to search new method to deposit, as if you are like me (and most new players) your bound to need to make few more of those deposits before starting to build the BR.
