HU KK

Place this one in basic.

Played a live SNG thingy, winner takes all, 5 players when this hand came up when it was down to HU. Buy-in is a whopping ten dollah or so.

I got 50~BB, BB got 75ish.

I played completely straightforward and have really just watched the others donk themselves out in like ten hands and doubled through once.

I probably got a tight image vs BB who hasn't played NL with me before. Actually the game is fairly tight since we're only like 4-5 hands into the HU yet.

I get KK, and raise a standard raise (4 BB or so).

BB re-raises which she doesn't do very often OOP. She is near FL aggro, ok player, can make some funky postflop calls. C-bets religiously. Re-raise was near the min, 6 more or so, which prolly means she wants me to call.

I'm guessing she got something like TT+,A8+ and maybe some pretty kings in her typical re-raising range. She's not a nit, but anything speculative she'd prolly call and try and bluff me on the flop instead of re-popping preflop.

I re-raise now she probably credits me for a monster, but she might be strong enough to call. if I call I prolly get cred for 'any two connected cards or better', and she'll def bet a good-sized c-bet (near pot is my guess), but any ace is bad news.

Your preferance is?

Given your reads, position, and the likelihood of no ace on the flop, I would just call and let her lead into you on the flop. If she likes to double barrel and the flop is dry I might even wait for the turn to make a move. Having position on her in this hand is key to extracting a lot of value.

I like the call, it's pretty hard to play KK poorly heads up, and in this spot we aren't folding to most flops so a call is pretty good for us. Combine that with the CB she will normally make and it makes it even easier.

If an Ace comes I still test her hand be reraising her CB, if none comes I take a look at the board and decide how slow I want to play it.

Call...if no A on the flop then let her lead into you...then push baby...push. I don't like the slow play here because KK is crackable. Have it where she has to make the choice...not you.

Really player depended.
Did you pushed before in the game? When playing HU, I'll often push monster early on, sure chances that he calls are slim, but it make me look like I bluff. One of my last game I happen to reraise push 3 times one villain (every time with a hand) last time I did it, he cracked and called. I had Q's and his A6 never improved. Sadly for him it was a 6NL, we were 3 left with 2 getting paid. The last player had 2BB left.

So any way, if you pushed before, maybe its time to push again. If she likes her hand so much she might call.

Though slow playing is pretty good. I can't see any other raise but a push.
Calling and letting her hang her self is also good.

No shoves for me so far, haven't really done much except flopping two pair against someones aces.

If you just call you have two potential problems ahead:

1) The flop has an ace. If you check and she bets you would have to make a weak fold or risk a re-raise and fold if she moves all-in. If she flat calls your check-raise, you are no better off going into the turn really and you might just have to dump it there instead having wasted bets on the flop. If you bet at the ace and she calls, again you don't really gain any info but if she raises, it's probably an easy fold.

2) The flop has no ace (or king). If you have her on a PP, she might have flopped a set and without a re-raise pre-flop, you will have no idea on the strength of the PP she might be holding. If the flop appears benign (eg no draws) but she has hit her set, it's going to be very hard to get away from.

Basically, for me this is a re-raise of at least 10BB on top of her 6BB raise. I think if she folds it's a good pot, if she calls you know there is a probably lot more strength there than you would have otherwise realised and if she moves all-in, you will definitely be calling ahead (unless, god forbid she has AA).

That said, I don't know sh*t Laughing

I think this is the type of hand you want to end it with... call the preflop raise and hope there's no ace... if there's no ace and she makes a reasonable size bet then just call it... if she overbets the pot then push.... if she bets the turn, push... if she checks the turn, push...

worse case senario is you're Ks get busted... then you just have a good bad beat story...

DISCLAIMER:... I'm not confident enough in my own HU ability to even play HU... I usually just beg for the chop...
