this is a situation that came up in a sunday mil sat...
hero MP with AKo... stack about 1300
blinds 15/30
UTG+1 calls, hero raises to 150, MP+2 calls, SB (maniac and has pushed 3 times already) pushes for 800, BB (another push happy) reraises to 1900 (efeectively covering me)... now back to me..
knowing that MP+2 loves to chase and will most likely call due to pot size alone, should I be calling in this situation? or should I just wait for another time to get my money in

This is truely a coinflip situation at best. At worst your up against AA or KK. If you truely had a good read on both these players and know what types of hands they come into a pot raising with then you know you have to make the call here and pray for the best.

early on in MTT with big buyin, do you really need a coin flip against worse players?
Since you can usually out play them later on, why not wait for a better option?

It's a satellite, I misread it first too, so you're excused
Easy call IMO, there's so much dead money out there, and if these guys are pushing a lot you're ahead of their ranges. Really you're best bet here is that they have something like 77 and JJ.

This is a little different, but generally I don't mind playing AK for a lot of chips early on in an MTT or Satellite, I knew that at least one of these jokers would be all-in so I'm basically accepting a coin flip, although it also helped that I had all 3 comfortably covered:

That's an easy call early in a satellite or rebuy, simply for the fact that pushing range is WAY bigger than Aces or Kings, and against any other group of hands, pot odds dictate a call.

What are the odds for something like this?
If you sure no one has K's or A's you win this pot 1-3.3 and you only getting 1-3 for your money.
So its a fold, isn't it?

The key to winning MTTs is really getting lucky. You don't have as much time to wait around for a big hand unlike cash games where you can always play 100 BBs deep ... If you're making an even money call in terms of pot odds in an MTT, its probably closer to +EV, since when you win you have a significantly bigger "portion" of the prize pool.
This is why tournaments are high variance as well.

Pot odds mean ALOT less in tourny play compared to cash games.
