Poker time $1000 freeroll

Posted Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:44 pm GMT by 4Aces07
I play in alot of freerolls usually $50 and $100 and sometimes make it into the money, overall i think i do quite well.
I have registered with pokertime a few days ago and have noticed that they have a few $1000 freerolls on every day, the payout for the top 20 places is great. The only thing is ,its out of 12000 people. I have been in 2 of theese and have not done very well. Should i change my strategy or play extra tight.
The freerolls i usually play in have about 2000 entrants. So am i wasting my time entering this $1000 freeroll or are they just the same as usual? Rolling Eyes
If any one plays in theese freerolls at pokertime or plays in any tourneys with 12000 entants, whats your strategy? Whats the best uve done?

Have never played such a thing but my advice would be to start the tourney, click 'sit out' and come back in 45mins. The field will probably be below 2000 by that point and you will not have lost too many chips if the blind levels are reasonable.

Even the best tournament poker players do not cash in every event they play.
playing against 12000 people your chance of making the cash is obviously smaller then playing 2000 people. However that doesn't mean you shouldn't attempt it.

the more you play the better you become. And lets face it, all you spend in it is your time!
