right now my friends and I start off at 10/20 and double it every half hour. We start out at about 1750 chips, but I was thinking of trying something new...
start off at 25/50, blinds raise every half hour
25/50
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400 etc...
What should we start out at? I was thinking about 5,000?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

At my home game, we start with 1750 then the levels go:
25/25
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
They bump every 25mins but with the idiots I play with, it's over by about level 4 or 5 every time

We usually use 1000 chips
Start at 5/10, double every 20-30 mins for regular stuff and every 10 hands for speed tourneys.

They have samples set up to start w/ 1000 or 10000, and explain how to calculate your own structure. Basicly, when BB+SB+ante=10% of chips in play, the average tourney will end, you can work backwards from there to set your levels.
