I was playing yesterday and at my table we had a guy who thought he was God's gift to poker. He was running down everyone's play, and when he won a pot he would put on a show. He would raise his hands in the air and tell everyone how good he was.
He didn't stop talking about how good he was ( or thought he was)
He even said that my playing was horrible and that he could beat me anytime. I was ready to slug him in his pie hole just to shut him up.
What is the best way to deal with a jackoff like this? I wanted to move to another table, but they were all full.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Take his money. If you let guys like that get to you, then they're outplaying you in a sense. They're getting you bothered exactly the way they intend to. If you can get past their antics, you can probably take a good chunk off of them. It's hard to put on a show and play perfect at the same time. Probably one of the reasons Matusow won over $2mil one year and was still hundreds of thousands in debt.

Online, close the chat..live, then you just make the impression that you are laughing at him behind his back (make it obvious), crack jokes at his expense and generally smile alot. Ask him if he needs a spotlight/stripper's pole/stage/microphone alot. Find some simple expression you can throw out every time he says something sour like 'FEELING THE LOVE!' and then laugh. Obviously say it if he takes a bad beat too.
Smiling and good mood is important or else you're just a big loser like he is obviously.
Ah, there is no feeling like making fun at someone you dislike who deserve it.
