Tuff way to bust out

Posted Wed Feb 14, 2007 3:19 am GMT by mackkie
I guess the 8,000 re-raise didnt scare him too much, i guess he thought his K9 was good.

By his actions it seems like he is on a busted flush draw on the river, i thought i was good here.

Too bad, won $577, but 2 more spots and it moved up to $1k with top getting 5.5k.

Prob should have gotten myself outta the way after the flop, but what do the tourney experts here say about this hand with 8 left at the FT.

Maybe put in for a 13,000-15,000 re-raise PF and take it down right there?

guess you guys had some history, as I don't understand the reraise with AT, nor his call and nor your flop... If you think he's making a move, raise the flop. You can't call it.

I would probably fold this PF TBH...but I'm not a MTT expert.

Still, congrats on cashing

I personally saw it as a weak steal attempt with blinds and antes being so high and i was 99% sure i had a better hand PF. I just cant understand what would make him call with K9o on a re-raise.

He has getting 3.5~:1 with position. I make that call every time.

Good point, i dont think the PF action is where i should be concentrating anyway, it was played pretty horribly on the flop, turn and river.

Why did you not lead?

Not sure...If I lead for 1/2 the pot for like 9.5k I prob would have taken it down.

I guess I was hoping that he missed the flop too and would check it...not gonna happen too often.

This hand does look pretty bad. If you're gonna re-raise as a bluff make the raise more substantial since you're OOP, here that basically means putting 1/3 of your stack in.

Then you check/called the flop with a gutshot after 3betting preflop ... what the hell was that? You either lead that flop, check/raise or check/fold.

You've got a nice stack of ~25 BBs, I see no reason to make this play with a mediocre hand like ATo. If you made a move like this, its a lot better with a monster hand or some low suited connected cards.

Pre-flop? Nothing wrong with re-raising here. The amount of hands the button could be min-raising with includes many that AT is ahead of or dominates.

Yeah, but AT is dominated by the hands that call a good sized raise. Of course here the problem is the size of the raise.

Dunno ... think you gotta be careful with steals etc, especially at final table, when waiting a little bit can make you a lot of $$$.
