Wow so I just got home from a shortened session of NL40 with my friends 2 buyins poorer. It was sicksicksick, cold deck after cold deck, I hardly got my money in with the best hand except maybe once.
I actually built my stack up to about 80$ in the first 20 minutes or so thru some nice bluffs and some nice hands. We were only playing 5 handed .50/1.00
1:
Hero/CO(85)-
SB(20)
EP(35)
Preflop:
EP Calls, Hero Calls, SB raises to $3, EP calls, Hero calls (pot $10)
Flop:
SB check EP checks, hero bets $8, SB calls EP folds
Turn:
SB checks, Hero bets All-in, SB calls
SB shows and I'm drawing dead except for the 9, which I miss
Maybe 4 hands later...
Hero BB ($65)
SB ($70)
Button (35)
Preflop: button calls, SB calls, hero checks, $3 in the pot
FLOP:
SB bets $2, BB raises to $7, button folds, SB raises to $12, BB calls, $27 in the pot.
At this point I wasn't so sure I had the best hand, I doubted he had an overpair, he is the type of player to 3bet with a hand like KJ so he could have had that, although the main hand I thought he probably had was 10-8
Turn:
Bingo. SB bets $10, Hero raise to $20, SB calls
River
SB all-in, Hero calls. SB shows for nut full-house, I muck my 2nd nut full-house
Pwned
So after this hand I rebought, I managed to run my stack up to about $60 again. I was playing insanely loose aggressive, my stats were probably about 60/35/20
Hero button (60) -
BB (75)
EP (35)
Preflop:
EP calls, Hero raises to $4, BB calls EP calls, Pot- $13
Flop:
BB bets 3, EP calls, hero raises to $15, BB calls, EP folds.
Turn:
BB checks Hero bets $20, BB raises All-in Hero calls.
BB shows
River
lolowned
After that hand I decided to give up.
lame lame lame lame lame lame now I'm poor
not poor.

Ouch! Pwned! Don't take it too hard, man. Those nights are rough, but you did the right thing in realizing that it just wasn't your night and walking away. You could've done what numerous others (including myself) have done and kept rebuying hoping to win your money back and lost even more. Sorry about your luck. Those nights just suck.
