A hypothetical hand against you

Posted Fri Feb 16, 2007 5:53 pm GMT by tame_deuces
A small hand analysis exercise just for fun:

Assume villain in the hand to be yourself and the hero to be a player which knows you very well, it is completely up to you to determine if he should be a nutpeddler, a LAG, a book TAG, a tough TAG, a calling station or whatever. Just state so in your post. For the most fun you should probably chose a player type you feel has an edge against yourself.

Analyze the following in the four scenarios: What kind of player is the villain and what do you credit him with here. What action do you take with your hand. If you are not folding, then what plans do you have for future actions and/or streets and what weaknesses in villain's play will you attempt to exploit. What kind of flops are you looking for.

If you feel that the flow of your typical games or stakes are vital in explaining your lines then just state so. For those that do not wish to give out 'information' about their own style, I hope you'll chime into the discussion still (if there will be one Smile).

Stacks are effective 100BBs. Cash game.
'Villain' is in MP.
Hero is on the button.

Villain raises 4xBB, it folds in to the button.

Scenario 1: Hero holds TDiamondTSpade
Scenario 2: Hero holds ASpadeQClub
Scenario 3: Hero holds 5Club7Club
Scenario 4: Hero holds KHeartKDiamond
