Satellite close to the bubble situation

Posted Sun Feb 18, 2007 4:56 pm GMT by MrDarling
Hi all, this hand happened last night while playing the FTOSP ME satellite.

I think it was about 15 people to the prize (which is the same for all)

background info - was actually was actually down to 5XBB few hands before. And finally stole twice with good hands to get me back up to 10XBB

My M is real low, and am worried about out lasting 15 more people.

Now reads : villain have raised few times from EP or UTG. half of these times it was enough to take the pot down, the other half someone reraised and he folded. So in his case raising from UTG didn't mean a necessary mean a monster. In fact, he was in the habit to limp with A's (he got them 4 times in the game)

I would agree to fold... at best you're going to get a coinflip... with your stack and only 15 people to go you can wait for a better spot...

I'd rather open push with A2o in LP than push a raiser with 4s...

Fold it. You're looking to get maximum fold equity by being first to push at the pot. You want two ways to win, not a coinflip-at-best gamble. A pair of fours is not a good hand. Also, when all you have to do is survive rather than win, there is no reason for this.

What was your Q?

If this table is even a decent sample you are asking for trouble doing this. You only have 10x the BB, but your stack looks about average. I'd rather be the first one in the pot than to reraise all-in with 44 knowing there is next to no chance I'm in good shape if he calls. I'm in a race or crushed.

Remember you can steal with any two cards in a hand or two, no need to stick it all in with 4's here even if he's raising too much and knowing you just have to survive and you win.

Your M was under 7 and your stack looked quite 'normal' - how bad was the blind structure of this tourney?! Shocked

I agree with those who say fold.

I now realize you guys are all right. I did hope he would fold, as he did many times in the past...
and, well......I kind of felt it....
In that game I almost always felt what the right move is. I managed to fold AJ on the SB to a raise, Worse I even folded AQ on the bttn (bet and a raise infront and I just felt.... dude showed A's)

Sometimes, when you are in the zone, I guess you should listen to your instincts. Though that was the only time I was in the zone in my poker life Smile

Bad move, bad timing - lucky results.

Thanks for the reply all
