Hey guys over the past month ago ive been playing/ trying to realse my 160$ bonus on full tilt. I currently have 600 points need to get to 1000. Ive already thrown about 100$ into the account and get donked repeatedly. They are calling down with ace every time and 60% of the time no joke the river is hitting. I know what they have and I still cant stop them. Whether its 2 pair, str, flush the river has been the card past week. Should I give up? Stick with stars where ive been doing.. or take a break and come back later?

What I am going to say will sound harsh, but it comes from someone who struggle in FullTilt micro levels as well. After playing for around 6 month, I'm only now a break even player. I also used to think that playing in higher levels will be easier. However :
If you lose in these levels, you can blame no one but yourself. When I play my A game (which honestly, is rare) most of my session are winning ones. When I start to think that everyone bluff me, chase silly draws without odds and marry to my TPTK I lose.

Sure, there are swings, and when your BR is so low (I know, been there my self, $100 is really not enough to play $10NL) every buyin you lose is very painful. You can play the best poker if your life and still lose 4-5 buyins in a row. However once your BR is big enough to support it, its not such a big deal, since you know you'll win it back.

I cleared my bonus playing 3-4 $10NL. Trying to sit very tight POST flop. Its ok to see cheap flops with ok cards, if you are good post flop. If you are not, you need simply sit and wait for monsters. Most players in these levels do not notice how tight you are and do not care.

I recently discovered Omaha, If you understand the game this is a gold mine. Many HL players come and put all their money in with TP or even 2 pairs. And in Omaha 2 pairs is not that strong. If you sit wait for good hands and play the nuts - you can win big amount. And since the pots are usually so big, the bonus will clear quickly.

Be careful , if you are not familiar with Omaha, its can be a pit full.

Thanks for the post, and Im aware when im on my game and not. However.. In the past week up up 300$ on Pokerstars.. Full Tilts a whole differnt reason. It may be a rush of cards.. but in "fact wise" The beats are 3:1 ok FT then stars.. I cant find a reason why that is true.

Decided to take ur advice and try some omaha. Up a few $ in under 5 minutes on both tables:) So far, THANKS! lol

beware of the omaha swings. Also , omaha does have a big luck factor (ie , you can play rags cards and hit often and make huge pots) So make sure you really understand the game before committing to the game.

I heard of people who played the game and made money for over a year without realizing that in omaha you can use ONLY TWO of your hole cards Smile

Thats completely ridiculous. I understand how to play except preflop is kind of confusing. Say someone raises 4X bb what kinds of hands should i be calling with?

call with any hand that works together, such as:

5678
5667
A567 (suited ace)
TTJJ

and the likes. Of course, the higher the connectors, the greater the value. Suits are nice, don't draw to non nut flushes though, and be wary holding the small sets.

These hand selections are more important than they might appear. Even if a great hand like As Ac Js Td is only a 60% favorite against, say 2d 6h 7h 9s. You might not want to play a multiway pot with it. The reason is that it's hard to flop something very profitable. It's hard to flop a big draw, and a flopped straight might be free-rolled my an opponent.

As for the swings, in the past two weeks I went on a downswing losing about 20 buy ins straight. Followed by a rush to win back 30. You are bound to find yourself in a bunch of 60-40, 55-45 situations, needless to say they create huge swings. That said, if you have the stomach (and the BR) for it, it's potentially a lot more profitable than hold em IMO.
