Do you ever use them in your game?
First one I started using was when I had a tough choice and couldn't get a read. I'd just ask the vilian something straight up like, "You got a King?"
First time I tried it, the guy busted out laughing. He had it.
Second time I tried it saved even more money. I had AA board came A 9 9. I check, he bet, I raised, he reraise. I asked, "got a 9?"
He smiles the most evil smile I've ever seen, "No" was all he said.
I folded and showed him the AA. He showed me his pocket 9's.
What I found to be the best EV from talking though is needling a loud mouth bully. They tilt hard and start trying to chase you down with nothing in hopes of busting you.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

You folded aces full, thinking he had quad nines?

He could show me the nines, and I'd probably still call.
And there's no way you got away from that hand after 3 bets on the flop. If you're gonna make it up, at least make it go five or six bets so it sounds more plausible.

I would also call with aces full, even if he showed me both 9s.

They'll have to drag me screaming and shouting out of the pot...

For some reason this thread remind me of the Poker after dark hand with Phil Gordon and Gabe Kaplan, when the board is AAKKK and Phil has got an Ace, Gabe leads out on the river for like 1/3 the pot and Gordon is sitting there talking about folding it.

I had a rookie at the table a few nights ago. He was down one buy in already and getting low on a second. At one point he ran me down w/ bottom pair and check raised when he made 2 pair vs my set.
Anyhoo, we had a hand where I turned a flush w/ 72 suited. It was a multi way pot -decent size. The river was a J, still just 3 clubs on the board. He bet into me. I asked "did that J help you?" He said, "Ya, a little bit". So I knew that the best he could have was a straight, so I felt comfortable popping him w/ my 7 high flush. Normally, I would be a little more cautious vs a rookie who didnt have it in him to bluff.

May the donks catch you on the river every hand. Pft.

Okay let me explain the whole hand and it will make more sense.
Villian was mp, I was BB.
I've probably played more hands against this player than anyone else, so we both have some ideal what the other does on regular basis. Villian is a very good loose/aggressive player.
He raised, I reraised preflop.
He looks at me for a minute and then says, you've never done that without pocket A's or pocket K's. He calls.
He called out my hand then made it plain that he wasn't scared that I had that hand after the flop.
Plus that damn smile gave me a chill it was so evil.
Would I ever fold this hand now? Maybe if he showed me the 9's first.

did you seriously have AA in your hand and the board was A 9 9 and you folded?

Folding AA on an A99 board in FLO is usually very very bad too. Silly salche.

If you really believe your read, calling 'because you just can't lay this down' is just rationalizing steam, even if it's the second nuts.
