Hi all ,
Background , Hero and villain opened the table with a couple of HU hands.
first hand villain took.
second hand Villain raise from the SB to 3XBB.
Hero looks down at 7's and reraised to 13.5XBB
Villain push. Hero quickly call. Villain show 6's and never improves.

Anyway, the table fills up. villain is lucky enough to catch 2 pairs against strong hands (Q3 against J's) and dlb up twice.

Umm... bad.
1) Fold pre-flop. Come in raising or fold.
2) Definitly fold to the raise.
3) What does calling do for you on the flop?
4) $1 bet? Why?
5) He again shows strength. FOLD.
6) Easy fold. Top pair no kicker.
Edit: I'm assuming you are villian here... at least I sure hope you are.

The question is the risk worth what you gain. Is risking 17 bucks which is a third of your stack on what is a more then likely a losing hand. Easy fold. His hand could be a couple of things 8s, 10s, or A10 or better. Very hard to say, villian could have qq or kk and is trying to get you to lay down a weak ace. I have done that move before and been successful and gotten called with those weak aces. I think it would be better if we waited for a more stronger hand to take down Villian and not let it be just a guess if we are ahead.

Was pushing with 6's stupid?

If you can't beat him then I guess hoping for a coin flip is okay...

It was the 2nd hand we sat together. And it was Hu and I'm the one who pushed...
I think the push is bad. Maybe another reraise or evaluate on the flop. However I think his call was 10 times worse

A-6 off suit from what I've learned here shouldn't even be played unless you can limp in at the BB.

Not bad play by either one of you if you want to take my Donktastic title...
Seriously...Skribbles sums it up best with all his comments. Nothing more I can add to this.

You suffer from a problem I use to have until Supa told me : "you don't know why you are betting"
I used to be like you. When ever I had a good hand I wanted everybody out of the pot as soon as possible. I was proud of my stats. where I took most pots without SD. Thats simply wrong.
You want value out of your good hand.
So its true, in micro levels people will normally wont fold for a 1/3 bet. However, so what. You'd almost never get a better hand here to fold (most micro players level marry a weak A)
So you bet. If you get called, you do whatever you think is the best way to get a cheap SD. Sometimes I'll check / call , sometimes I value bet. Often I'll fold. It hurts as hell to fold K's but it can save money.
Good luck
Danny
