Whats your favorite hand you know you shouldnt play?

Posted Sun Feb 25, 2007 5:28 pm GMT by MasterMike
I think many poker players have those wierd hands that may have won them a lot of money in the past that they just love to play whenever they get it. I have heard crap like 4-3 off from one guy and just wondered if anyone else had something like that.

Mine in j-8. Just seems like very flop there is a j or an 8 or a straight draw, and it can win quite a few times.

Anyone else?

810 suited, but only in short handed cash games (not tourneys for some reason). Some people may say that this isnt that bad of a hand because of its drawing potential, but i am usually sucked into calling any raise as long as its not bigger than 5x bb.

If i had poker tracker i would be willing to bet that calling a raise with 108 suited has not won me money over the long run even though you could hit a home run if you actually hit a nice flop with it.

J4 was 'my hand' for a while. And I seem to have played an awful lot of big pots with, or again 68.

Q Club T Club is my favorite premium hand

7 Club 6 Spade is my favorite trash hand

Don't have any...

for a very short while it felt like T2 always hit, so I'd play it often. But that was only for a couple of sessions....

J-9 or 9-7 probably

J Diamond 9 Diamond , all time fav. Think im counting it has saved me my last 8 out of 10 times all in durning tournies when I was the short stack. Durning my 75k FT if I would of called the 4 way vs 10', queens' Kings and the Ace King (was nutz to see that kind of action on a FT) it would of pulled threw with a river flush but I jut didnt pull the trigger with it that time.

I'm with mackie, I love T8 suited, so much so I taped some cards on my wall showing a T8 as hold cards and then a flop with 79J (its not thaaat lame I have a lot of poker stuff up there).. haha that hand has won me some money...

I also am loving 57 Spade Anytime I raise with it late position, I seem to hit a sneaky flop HARD. Flopped the straight flush a few weeks back against a guy who hit a set of 6's Smile

Seems like 3/4 of you are into jack X I wonder why...

Posted Mon Feb 26, 2007 5:37 pm GMT by daycri
I dont like Jack anything...

Pocket Jacks, Ace Jack suited, Ten Jack/ Jack Queen Suited... I don't like any of them, and only play the last three if the situation makes sense, not just as a "I wonder what the flop will be" kinda thing. and Jacks, well we all know we raise trying to limit the field in position, get called by two people..

Flop comes A K x

and two raises in front...

Everytime! I hate Jacks!

Also, in my live play, 2 of the 3 times ive seen quads was with jacks, BOTH on the flop.

Last week i flopped quads online when the flop came JJJ

Any hand with jacks are great (although pocket jacks can seriously be one of the most frustrating/overplayed hands).. but j 8 is the king of all hands

Jacks are gold.

Do i really believe this? Kinda, not really, but its fun to think this way.

Mine would be 10 9 suited or unsuited. I have flopped two pair and snapped Aces and big Ace so many times with it.
