i've been playing poker twice a week through university for the last eight months or so and have been thinking about getting involved online.
so was just hoping someone could help me out with a couple of questions
How do free-rolls work, do you have to register a credit card or anything and are there any hidden catches? How do the prizes work and are the worht taking the time to play.
wheres a good place to start to get some experience without the risk of losing too much money
cheers !
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Join any poker site and play for free, no credit card required, you loose no money, you win play money only, you gain experience and get used of the whole procedure of online playing. You need to have a money account to play free rolls, they won’t let you play for money if you have never deposited funds, they are called free rolls because it cost nothing to buy-in.

Click here to search for upcoming freerolls.
Read each sites terms regarding their freerolls. Most allow you to play in a freeroll without making a deposit, but there are sometimes terms to clear/release the rewards (like bonuses).
Don't play freerolls to get better... you probably wont lol. The only thing you can really learn in a freeroll is how to be patient, but most don't and come out thinking the ridiculous bets and calls they see made in them is how you should play (it isn't lol).
