Hey guys new here but have a question for you..
No limit holdem..
There are two players left on the table the BB is set at 20,000 the SB is set at 10,000.
Player "X" is on the BB(20,000) but he only has 5,000 left, he goes all in.
Now player "Z" has to put in the SB(10,000), but player X cant even match that, so does player Z just have to match what is put into the pot (5,000) which means the blinds at this stage are irelevant seening as you can only win what you can match?
Is this correct? Or how are the blinds played in this situation?
thanks for your help.

Hiya
let me see if i get your example
10k small blind and 20k big blind
Player x (in the bb): 5k chips
Player y (in the small blind): 50k chips
Player z: 50k chips.
Player X would post what he can for the big blind (which is 5k)...
Player Y would need to put in the small blind (which is 10k)
Player Z, if they wish to play, would need to call atleast 20k.
If player Y wishes to play past the preflop round, he would also need to call atleast 20k preflop (the size of the BB).
Player X can only win 5k times the number of people in the hand. (You can only win what you put in)
Hope that clears stuff up.

Thanks but there are only two players left
X on the BB (20k) but he only has 5k left..
Z is on the SB (10k)
There are no other players on the table
X goes all in on 5k because he can't make the big blind
Does Z have to play the 10k SB? or just match the 5k? because to me there seems no point in playing something that cant be matched.. was what I was asking.
In which case the blinds dont matter anymore as one player can never match them.. what happens with the blinds?
Was that clearer..
Thanks for you help.

Only $5K from each player goes in the pot, and you play showdown poker from there.
You can't win more than you have in front of you or lose more than your opponent has in a heads-up situation.
