Villian is fairly aggressive.

What does "fairly aggressive" mean? Surely there must be some kind of range on his hand?

You're a favorite over QQ here, so you're probably going to be calling against most hands. You'd only be a slight dog against AJ or KJ.

I put villian on JJ

I'm not quite sure what you mean by fairly aggro, but if he raises light and can bluff abit postflop this is an easy call - Might be anything from 77/99 to draws to something strong.

I call.

He's probably got a set or a monster draw.

I would fold this probably 40% of the time and call 60%.

In low levels this is as often a strong draw as it is a made hand. It is very rarely a set or 2 pairs.
I suspect an over pair (Q's or even T's) and like stated above you are ahead of this.

Sure you will encounter a set rarely. But its not often enough to make to call unprofitable.

Pokerstove gave us 42% for the range of any set, any two pair, any top pair/T+ kicker, and any overpair

That's almost break even.

When we add in the fact that this line is rarely a set, two pair/AA/KK is also very strange, and that it's reasonably likely that you get shown a drawing hand, it's an easy call.

Just based on hand distribution ignoring the 'strangeness' of the lines, one pair/draw makes a large majority of what we get shown here. Our hand wins more than its share against almost every one pair hand and our hand trumps every drawing hand pretty goot.

So, please call.

I fold this hand ( unless i have an excellent read on villain) 80% of the time. If you figure you are up against a set or two pair than an Ace or King is no good. That leaves you 9 outs ( any club) so you're about 33% to win.

You will win 1/3 of the time and its 25$ to call
If you call 3 times it costs 75$, however you will only win 1/3 times - 50$.

Let's say villain has a pocket pair... That leaves you 15 outs (any Ace King or club)- About 55% chance of winning.

In either circumstance you aren't in a dominating position to win the hand. You want to get your money in the pot with the best hand. In my opinion it's not worth risking all your chips on a coin flip. It's not a productive way to win, Eat the 2.75 and wait until you have a big advantage to get your chips in.

FWIW , today I sat with an aggressive player who liked to push AI.
He didn't play or raise every hand, but it did seem he had a note or a read on me. Every hand I raised he called then either raised my c-bet AI or lead AI. If checked to him, he'd simply bet.

So I waited, kept c-betting and kept folding my missed flops. until this hand :

I know alot of people say this, and this is actually a much more exploitable trait than the opposite (always trying to be the first to get the money in the middle on coinflips).

AKs flushdraw on the flop is a monster hand to have when calling against loose players. I don't know if this player in this hand is loose or just aggro or what, I just assumed he was loose since he was described as 'fairly aggro', which people generally don't call tight players (even if they are aggro).

But let's say I'm playing Snoogins and the flop comes w/this texture and somehow he ends up all in. If I wouldn't call that I might as well fold sets or stop playing poker.

Against aggressive and loose players AKs flushdraws are monsters, not coinflips.
