3rd tournament results

So i played my third tournament and i really think my game is improving. The only issue im having is my all in moments I'm just choosing the wrong time to move.

Last night we started with 2k chips and i was up about 1500 to 2k in chips. I get dealt J 10 suited and bet 200 pre-flop. and had 3 callers. Flop turns out A Q 3.
So now i'm setting on a gut shot straight so i'm playing. I think i bet another 200 called by all three .
Turn card brings a J I didn't hit my straight but paired my J's and still felt good about my hand. Bet 200 again called by one guy the other buy makes it 750 I called and it was instantly called by the other player.
River brings another A leaving me with 2 pair aces and Jacks. Player to my left checks and he just bet 750 so i'm not sure what he is doing. I decided to try and push these guys out and buy the pot so i pushed in with like 1775. Guy next to me called instantly and players to my right folded.
He turns over 1 card the A leaving him with a set of aces so i muck and get up. Im sure i played that wrong but i felt my 2 pait was good. I think next time im just going to have to watch my all in pushes.

a turned pair when you were called by two players preflop and on the flop i'd say 4/5 times isn't good....

The river brought you nothing. You have to realise here that you were probably way behind on the flop, the turn was totally inconsequential without a J/K on the river and that the final Ace was an even bigger sign to fold immediately to any river action Shocked

ugh ... you really can't think of that hand as "two pair" because everybodys got that pair of aces and its way too easy for somebody to have a queen or an ace

ask yourself what do you beat, your answer is a bluff and if you don't think they're bluffing then fold

I can understand u saying I showed strength pre flop so ill fire a continuation bet and represent my A, but you cannot say "I have a gut shot straight draw so that is worth betting"

Also, i dont know the blinds and your position, but a $200 bet could potentially be a bad PF raise if the blinds are low or if you are in bad position.

This is your 3rd tourney so you will encounter many many mistakes along the way, just like everyone has, but try to remember what you did and learn from the mistakes and it will make you a better tourney player.

Have you read the Harrington books yet? They're not an instruction guide to being the best player in the world, but they offer a ton of great insight for improving your tournament game.
