There is a decent chance that hunger has you beat, and mike might have the same hand as you.
Last thing you'd want is to hit top pair and still be way behind to AA or KK.
Tough situation with you getting over 3 to 1, but I still lean toward folding, and that's also why I don't generally 3-bet AK before the flop.

I think you're too invested to Fold. Your opponent's ranges both extend past KK+ so there are some amount of hands that you are in good shape against. Hell, you could be up against QQ and JJ, in which case you are in great shape.
Edit: It kinda looks like your bigstacked opponent is trying to isolate down to 1 opponent, so do what he doesn't want you to do and take the flop, then see what happens.

i am definitely in tune with all of your points made.
i was actually gonna just lay it down immediately after he re-raised until i looked at the pot size and the ammount to call.
so i made kind of a reluctant call based solely on the odds i was getting... decided to see the frop

Well, IF you call the preflop bet (which I would not have done) this is about the best flop you could hope for.
You have already decided that you are ignoring, or at least discounting, the possibility of AA and KK (or you wouldn't still be in this pot) so it's time to either pump up the pot or take it down.
Being in ealry position (and still not liking the actiuon so far) I go for the check-raise here and hope to take down the pot. If someone comes over the top I feel sick and reevaluate...

Once you've seen the flop, bet small and fold to a raise. Try to check it down if you get called.

The reverse implied-odds in this hand are absolutely horrific, unless the bigger stacked guy is a complete and total tweed. Total tweed factory. It would generally take somebody who a)has a range preflop including weaker aces and pairs down to the middle range and b)somebody who will stack off with abandon with AQ/AJ on an ace-high flop here, as well as someone who will do the same with an underpair to make me call here. Given the "small raise UTG + minimum 4bet" line... well good luck. I fold here, quite easily.
If I got into that spot, I'd check the flop, call bets up to around half pot, maybe a hair bigger, fold anything else, and the majority of the time that's the last pennies I'm putting into the pot.

As played I check flop. I think you are generally either way ahead or way behind here so no reason to bloat pot even more.
That being said, C/R is probably the worst option as it folds out any QQ or JJ hanging around and we lose more to AA, KK (unlikely).
What hands are you hoping to fold out with a C/R?
The hands that beat you aren't going anywhere on a flop like this. You might not even fold out another AK. I either C/C or C/F usually player dependent.
These may seem like weak lines with TPTK, but you're hand strength relative to his range is not as good as you might think.

well, when i check-raise it becomes pretty clear what do do after he acts on it.... if he 3-bets i can easily go out. if he folds, no problem. if he calls, try and get to showdown as cheap as possible, and probably fold to any real strength..

With this being Doyle's Room...King I hate to say it but one of those two players has 88 and made the set. Don't be surprised if another 8 hits the river and makes them quads. I played DR too long and saw that happen to me on 4 different occassions...lol.
Interesting to see how this hand does finish out. I like the CR personally.

Oh noes, I put him on a hand like JJ or QQ earlier in the hand and half of those hands now beat you. You checked the flop, stick with that line and check again on the turn. If he checks behind you can stick in a bet on the river and hope he's suspicious and will pay you off with a hand like QQ or even TT (or AK for the chop).
Can you really see him checking AA on that flop? That would be a delightfully deceptive play that could get you stuck for yer stack.
I didn't like that J though.

This is way I don't like to 3-bet with AKo without reads and I probably do fold it to a 4 bet.
Now, when someone 4 bet Pf and then check the flop, I probably open fold

hard to get away from AK preflop with monster pot, i really thought hungry had u dominated preflop, that weak raise then another raise really tells me he has 1 of the big 2 hands. i would call preflop and prey for an ace then lead out, if he calls/raises then he has trip aces n im outta there
