After finishing 4th in 4th try at tournament play, I tried again this week. Limped in with suited QJ. Flop was 8/9/10 and I am cool.
Guy on right goes all in - so do I. Cards up. He has pocket tens for a set. Turn is J. Need I say what came on the river? The case 10.

As they say, that's poker and yes, it sucks. Bets advice is to fuggeddabowdit, there'll be plenty more hands where your straight will hold up :D :D

As I thought about it, the guy who hit 4 10s on the river, had 3 8's, 3 9's, 2J's and a 10 for outcards to beat my straight. Same odds as a flush draw 9/47. If we played the hand 5 times, I win 4. This guy just got lucky on the first one. It was a lousy nite of TV, also.
