I'm about to play my 2nd and 3rd live MTT (A freeroll and a qualifier for the Belgian Championship)
I need tips.
whats the easiest way to always know how many chips I have? I feel a little arrogant if I count my chips after winning a pot or if my stack is biggish.
More important, I need an easy tip to estimate the size of the pot.
And last, tips to estimate size of other players stacks.

always count ur chips and always make sure u know how many chips ur opponent have...
u need to know this information
and u cannot just not know where u stand...
and for pot size, if its too much, u can ask
or keep track of the betting... and add them up urself, its not too hard... take ur time. no need to rush

Yeah, I want to know all stack and pot sizes but don't want to be counting all the time and be annoying to other players.
When the pot is big and I have to make a call decision on the river I have no problem counting it. However counting on the turn gives a lot of info about my hand.
Was thinking I should I arrange my chips in stack on 1K (or any other figure) then I just need to count my stacks to know how much I have. Guess I'll have to wing it with other players.
And estimate the pot as good as I can.

most players will stack their chips in stacks of 20 so if you do this counting your chips and estimating your opponent's should be easy enough.

Yea this was what I would have suggested, use one of your stacks as a imeasuring sticki as a quick comparison tool.
As for the pot you can estimate based on how much you see in there and how much you know other players had to put in to call on the rounds so far.
But in short. Yes having an auto-count of the pot and every players stack is a big help on-line and live play can be a pain for people like me who aren't fast on the math.

+1, although not every other player will be as neat and tidy. I also think the habit of arranging your stacks into racks is something you develop playing cash games more than tournaments.
As for pot size, the dealer announces (or should) the number of players remaining after each betting round. Just multiply that number by the amount you put in, and keep a running total. It will be difficult at first, but you get accustomed to it pretty quick and it will give you a reasonably accurate count in the majority of situations.

if you are playing with like 100 dollar chips
then stack them up to 20 or so
then you will know you are at 2000 for each stack
and it guess u a pretty good estimate on how much u have...
