This has been on the horizon ever since they cut services to US players.
Don't be shocked when Canada follows suite and bans online gambling altogether, if the US doesn't figure something out quick-snap, canada will be in the exact same boat anytime now.

to think optimistic if canada does ban online gambling then the homegame boom will be back.... and man are homegames sweet money...

I acutally heard that just ontario was considering banning online gambling. I am not certain on the source, but if it happened I would probably just move out west... or out east. Nova Scotia or BC, I get a kick out of easterner's accents, but BC is f*cking chill...
oh well I probably have a year to make up my mind.

To all of our Canadian friends. I would be very, very cautious about cashing out through NeTeller. They STILL have all of the US funds held hostage. I'm sure they're earning interest on them but I don't have mine and don't know if I ever will.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Within 75 days (less now), they say they will have a plan for distributing our cash. I'd say we will have it all back in 90-120 days.

Like West said...in the mean time they are getting a ton of interest off of your money.

The article about the settlement between the US Justice Dept quoted $55 million US dollars in US resident accounts being retained by NeTeller. With conservative estimates of 4% interest (higher rates are widely available for short term CDs in the US), a six month retention period, and completely ignoring any compounding effects the proceeds to NeTeller are about $1.1 million US dollars, roughly $6,000/day. Of course their legal bills are probably higher than that and they'd just as soon be back to business as usual. But it is a helluva lot of tournament buy ins.

I have been using Netseller for quite a while now.
What other alternatives are there?
