Obliterated....

Posted Tue Apr 03, 2007 3:04 pm GMT by Concussed
So there i was...feeling ready for the next step up...i've been playing $.25-.50 for weeks now and making constant small profits so i thought... right lets step up to .50-.50.... can't be that much difference....

47 minutes later and $55 down. !!

I presume its just bad luck. The bets are a lot higher than i'm used to, but the cards are the same.!!

So i lost with KQ losing to a straight made on the river after pairing Kings on the flop,
I lost with AQ having paired QQ on the flop against a KK. (Not particular high bet pre-flop)
and 2 other losses.

Just a moan really...it't can't carry on....can it ????

That's 1 buyin. If that affects you in the least you should move down.

Do yourself a favour and detatch yourself from the money value aspect of it and see it as chips, it's difficult to do but it helps in the long run so you don't get too giddy when you hve a big winning day and doesn't dampen your spirits if you lose.

There is your first mistake. You need to crush a level over a big sample raise to know you are ready.
second, what every one said. Even if you are the best player in the world, I'm talking Supa class here. You are still bound to lose few buyins when people insist calling your raises with A's and K's.
If losing one buyin is an eye opener, you are a couple of levels above your BR.

Good luck
