Which do you prefer and why?
I play 25-50nl cash, some 1/2FL, and a lot of MTTs and Sngs - are either of the two programs better suited for me?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I prefer poker office. The stats on the HUD are more useful in my opinion.

AFAIK, you can display pretty much everything you'll ever need with PA if you tinker with it.
Haven't tried PO.

Do both work with: (?)
a) multi tables
b) both cash and tournaments
I downloaded the trial for PA HUD and found some difficulty in setting it up, is PO easy to use?

PO is more intuitive imho. It does multi table fine and works great for cash games. It can be a litle buggy when it comes to tournaments.

PT and Pa HUd has worked for me. I have never needed to try anything else.

Yes, they both work with multiple tables and both cash and tournaments.
I haven't used Poker Tracker in a long time, so I can't make any good comparisons between the two, but I definitely recommend Poker Office.

PokerTracker has been giving me a lot of problems lately and I've been forced to deal with support for like two weeks now. The problem was resolved (sort of) so i'm continuing to use it, but also going to buy PO or PA HUD to go with it.
So far I think PO is the better option.

what kind of probs are you having... I've been using it for over a year now on many different sites FL,NL, tourneys without any problems...

Well I've had to backup my data many times due to computer viruses/reformatting/new comps, etc.. and a lot of the time my data gets corrupted in the backup process.
Just last week I had to start from scratch again.

kk gotcha... but in all honesty that's more user problems than anything to do with the program...
(just playing devils advocate here)
one thing with Pokertracker is that is does have a long loading time when importing HHs and TS... also if you have a large database (30k+) it can get a bit laggy...
although for me cust support has been always fast and responsive...
Posted Mon Apr 09, 2007 11:16 am GMT by LeafsFan1122
Yeah that's cool - I'm not the most computer savy when it comes to programs like PT which explains my failure to maintain a database.
And yeah, the loading times for imports are sometimes ridiculus.

from what I've heard both programs are great... all comes down to personal choice...
try both out Pokertracker has a trail version which lest you import 1k hands to test it out... I'm sure PO has something along those lines... try them both out and go with whichever you like best...
etiher way I doubt you'll be dissapointed...

A very kind member of THP PM'd me with a serial number so I am now set up with PokerOffice. At first glance it looks a bit intimidating but i'll try to get a feel for it.

Few Q's:
a) How do I display my own stats at the table?
b) I tried to import my PT database but it didn't work. Is there anything specific I need to do in order to do this?
c) Are there any basic settings that I should enable that I might have missed?
Thanks.

d) In the middle of my table is says pot odds: but it's always blank - how do I fix that?
e) is there a way to auto-update on the main PO page?

Live Tracker-> Customize Table Overlay -> check box for Own player's stats sometimes it doesn't work regardless. It will show if you are replaying hands in PO.
| LeafsFan1122 wrote: | | d) In the middle of my table is says pot odds: but it's always blank - how do I fix that? | After FT changed to resizable tables the HUD got screwed. THere is a beta fix available and a full fix will be available this week.

auto updates pop up when you open PO, but you can always check the PO website.

Ok thanks for the help.
Anybody know what the "c" and "x" beside an opponents name/stats means?

check/call/bet/raise
the action they took on each street of the current hand.

Bump - one more question.
For some reason, even after importing close to 1,000 more hands, my tournament stats still claim to have only 30 or so hands recorded. Anyone know why that's happening?

Sure it's not 30 tournaments? Are the won and lost amount correct for the tournaments?
Posted Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:07 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
I'm not sure what exactly the problem is.
Here is the window:
I always click Yes to on that screen but no new hands are uploaded (as you can see where is says 32).
Posted Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:12 pm GMT by khaosanroad
I've never really used it to track tournamentsm so I"m clueless on that. The pokeroffice forum might be able to help.
Posted Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:13 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
Not too big of a deal, really - I use PT to track all my personal stuff.
Posted Thu Apr 19, 2007 6:45 am GMT by Poto
Do you play tournaments with different aliases or something and haven't combined them yet?
Posted Thu Apr 19, 2007 2:25 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
Nope, my alias is the same on every site (and also I've only played on Stars since getting PO).
Posted Fri Apr 20, 2007 7:50 am GMT by Poto
Oh, you have to manually import the tournament histories since Pokerstars isn't including all the information in their hand histories.
